beautiful but am i the only one that dark fretboards and light headstocks makes me twitchy?
I’d probably rather have this for less than half:

(extra string notwithstanding)
I’m simple kind of guy. A yamaha BB double P… yes, that’s bass porn imo.
Edit: If I thought I could sell off a couple of basses and extra pedals quick enough to turn them into that BBVIIx… It’d be mine right now.
I have been looking for exactly that BBVIII in that color locally low-key for a while.
That is absolutely gorgeous.
Yeah that’s triple the price they go for here. I have seen them as low as ¥23k.
Reverb is never a good option for Japan, sadly. I really wish it were.
I priced that one out this morning. Coming from China, by the time you pay shipping, taxes, duties and customs it comes out to almost $2700.
I spoke with a guy who toured some Chinese guitar factories and he said they were state of the art with all new equipment, very clean, etc…
But I’m just not ready to have a made in China bass in my stable, there may come a day but not today…
This was a Yamaha BB VIIx from 1984, made in Japan with double P pickups. It wasn’t made in China.
Ah-so
The nut looks narrower in the picture.

Just vinyl wrapped my pick guard with a carbon effect
I have owned two, they were quite good, both Warwicks.
Shijie makes better Fenders than Fender USA as well.
