To each their own, but 50 million Dingwall fans can’t be wrong! :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

As mentioned the fellow I know only had good things to say after touring two factories in China.
I’m just not there yet, my day may yet come.
Why and what’s up with the capuffal?

50 million, maybe a bit heavy, Grok says -

Production Capacity: Dingwall is a boutique manufacturer, and even their China-made models have lead times of 11 months for NG and Combustion models, per Guitar Reviewed, indicating limited production runs. SaskMusic notes that Dingwall is the third-largest guitar manufacturer in Canada, with about half their basses made in Saskatoon and half in China.
Therefore, a rough estimate suggests that Dingwall has likely produced around 15,000 guitars in China from 2010 to 2025. This number could be higher if the NG series sales spiked due to its popularity in the metal community, or lower if production was more limited due to their rigorous quality control and hybrid manufacturing process. Without exact production figures from Dingwall, this remains an educated guess based on available trends and discussions.

I agree, totally…

And then there’s Gibson.  :joy:

It’s a tongue-in-cheek reference to a famous Elvis Presley album from the 1950s—“50,000,000 Elvis Fans Can’t Be Wrong.” The phrase has since become a kind of cultural shorthand for “this many people like it, so it must be good.”

There was a time I knew that,

However it’s an interesting stat.

Yeah, the Squier Paranormal Rascal bass is made in China, and it’s one of my all time favorites.

sure does seem to be a bazillion form over function look at my art piece basses these days. but still it IS beautiful

It is beautiful, with a huge amount of functionality.

With all that access way high up the neck, it would make a great soloist’s bass, perfect for playing jazz.

Please tell me you own it now? If so, Ima need a cover so I can get a good sense of how it sounds.

I saw one in the US going for almost $1K. In that context, is it really priced poorly?
