Bass Porn

To be fair you boys probably had OCD as kids but they didn’t have a name for it back then.

I like the colour combo.

My wife thinks If I was in school now, instead of back in the 70’s. I’d definitely be on some form of medication to moderate my behavior

how about this 6 string? 1 or 2 of these strings would be along for the ride but…

Part of the charm of the Tele is it looks like something Leo cut out of a table with a jigsaw and then slapped random parts in.

Even if I sold all my other gear I don’t think I could justify that cost. Maybe if my band makes it huge I’ll revisit that lol

I’m just not a fan of the whale shape…. I’m not kink shaming at all, just not my thing.

Yeah. I am generally a fan of unusual basses but the whales would cause playability issues for me. I understand that’s not true for everyone but definitely would be for me. I play up the neck all the time too.

Beautiful single-cut. Just a couple extraneous strings for my taste. Otherwise, it’s a work of art I’d be glad to have.

Not necessarily, some of their basses have aluminum bodies

i’ve said it before, but in my eyes you could make that bass look a thousand times better by simply cutting out that single cut piece of wood attached to the neck. and make it far more playable up there too as howard said.

It all depends on player preferences.

To me, a bass is much more than how closely it conforms to the looks of an electric guitar’s double-cutaway form factor.

Many luthiers and artists I respect prefer the construction characteristics of the single-cut bass design.

Personally, I come from playing acoustic guitars that have no cutaways. As such, I never wrap my thumb around the back of the neck when I play lines beyond the 12th fret, which I do all the time. So I find a single-cut bass totally playable up to the 24th fret. I’m not saying this is the norm for all players or that anyone should necessarily agree with my view, but it is not entirely anomalous either.
