Alpher Instruments
Ooh I love this.
I think this has to be germaine to the thread… this is THE Alembic that Stanley Clarke recorded School Days on! I got to briefly interact with it, hope some of the mojo rubbed off!
A thorough and complete explanation is not only appropriate but respectfully demanded, most especially because that bass is owned by Victor Wooten. ![]()
Inquiring minds, and all that. ![]()
Also, pray tell, what kind of bass camp was that?? With the Berklee boys!?!
I’ll post about it in detail soon, perhaps in a dedicated thread, when I’ve had a little more time to gather my thoughts. (Just got home late last night) But yeah, I was at Victor’s Bass/Nature camp this past week. It was amazing in so many ways, beyond just playing the bass. If you ever get the chance, I cannot recommend it highly enough! Steve Bailey was there (sharp eyes, @joergkutter !) along with several other top tier players / instructors.
I agree. What’s the back story to getting to play that bass? Also, cool practice space. It gives me bass summer camp vibes.
Better post the details soon before we figure everything out ![]()

Heh, yeah I got to speak with Amos as well that night he came out . Cool guy! I love that he plays bass for TSwift, but is a total metal head too ![]()
Got to know his name because of his Darkglass reviews, before I knew about him being the bassist for Taylor Swift ![]()
I hope you found the time @fennario to tell Victor he’s wrong about there being 30 keys ![]()
Also Amos Heller is a fabulous bassist / human with some great thoughts about bass / gigging etc. Worth a look / listen
I’ve posted this one here before but some new pictures have appeared on instagram. They only sent me a pic of the body and the pick up instructions, but now I’ve seen these I’m really jonesing for this bass now It doesn’t help that I have her sister here on holiday with me.
Hi, my name’s Paul and I have a problem
That’s really pretty!
Nice!
The bassist from local band The Effigies brought his original blackstar to club Exit in Chicago back when he bought it in the '80s and showed it to me. when he opened the case and I saw it for the first time, I thought it was the most beautiful thing I had ever seen in my life
That’s really pretty.
Color scheme brings to mind a Blonde Brownie.
Edit: another pic of the same model obviously the pups are different or at least the covers. So, yeah looks to be a Warwick bridge.
Interesting bridge… what’s going on there??
