Me too. The only bass I have considered trading my TRBX604 up to is a purple Ibanez SR2400
Umm, those are old. somebody had one, @quadfather I think, could have been somebody else that hs not been posting a lot lately, but I think it was @quadfather. He ended up getting rid of it. Looked cool, was a bit large and heavy and I think he said it was just way to write for him (audibly, not visually). of course this is all going off memory, and mine is not always that spot on.
Still, I would want one none the less, just to hang on the wall, I will take the white pick guard, but would rather have the black pick guard, but would want the headstock and hardware back with it, since its not, ,I would probably go with the white one in the end.
Yup, it was me! And you’re right, I found it extremely bright/hot. The action needed doing and it had some neck dive. But, saying that, it’s a beauty to look at in the flesh, I’ll give it that. I mean, if you like hot pickups and don’t mind a bit off neck dive, then it could be great for someone. It just didn’t fit with me unfortunately
The one I bought came with both coloured pickguards too, if that’s any help
That is nice of them, makes it easier for me to decide as well, I will take both. LOL
Interesting pickup arrangement @sfadams
Not really my thing but it wins the award for “best truss rod cover”.
That said, $9,000 is just nuts
Ah. Got it.
Ahh, custom shops. ESP, Warwick, Fender, etc - selling one-offs of their production instruments for… a lot. But they do do cool stuff. Well, except Fender, who just make things more “vintage” as far as I can tell.
I love everything about this bass, but the headstock is high on the list.
I like how the headstock flows like the body shape, and the truss cover the same. I like that its angled back and I don’t have to mess with a string tree.
Some of the models have 3 strings on the top, one on the bottom.
I like that the 1005 model has an EQ bypass; not active/passive because the pickups are still active.
I like the bridge on the 204, its solid like a Hipshot not just angled like a Fender, and the 1005 bridge allows string through body.
I like the 40mm nut width
Whoever designed this bass paid attention to detail.
ESP is great, definitely high on my list of manufacturers.
