The Kiloton I just picked up has the same body as the SB. I just figured out last night that the itty bitty waist on them are a perfect wrist rest when you’re playing with fingers.

killer bass

…

Well, as I said I’m not much into the birth year thing, but if I wanted one, it could be a 1980 Gibson RD Artist, the one with the Moog preamp.

or maybe a 1980 MusicMan Sabre Bass.

I owned ā€˜75 Jazz bass. Not for long, though. I didn’t gel with it at all. I got rid of it.

See the G&L bridge and the L2000 electronics in the making right there.

Just to play along I did some searches for 1960 basses.
It was a little tricky since many more current 1960’s basses showed up.

I did find this 1960 Fender ā€œStack Knobā€ Jazz Bass - Lake Placid Blue Refinish for close to $20,000.

I found a couple of other interesting basses from the 1960s.

Sears Vintage 1960s Violin Bass Guitar Made in Japan 1960s Tobacco Burst.

However, it was already sold.

Vox Mark IV Bass 1960,s - Sunburst

I also came across this webpage for the 25 most valuable basses that might help others in their pursuits.

This is kind of fun.

Original 1962 Fender Precision Bass although I am pretty happy with my American Pro II Precision bass and don’t feel the need to own a bass made in 62’ like me.

Carved LOL.

Here’s a billion dollar idea. You bring us your pet and a guitar.

We put peanut butter and beef on the guitar and let your beloved pet add his or her artistic touch. :dog2::cat2:

If money were no object, I might shoot for a `72ish Rickenbacker 4001 and pretend I’m Bruce Foxton of The Jam.

This belongs in the ugly duckling thread, where I can properly love it, along with all the other castaways and pearls before… um…, well, people who don’t appreciate funky pearls.
