Years ago when he just got started, I bought a few of his books. They are painfully underwhelming. I hope he’s taking the experience from YouTube and put some cool stuffs in the lessons.

He did do a relative questionnaire survey and he has a lot more experience now.

Becoming a good instructor is a process the same as becoming a good bass player, not everyone will become a good bass player same as that not everyone will become a good instructor, but with practice some do…

The guy may be the most technical master ever, and if he has learned how to effectively pass his understanding on it will likely be worthy.
I’m hoping for some reviews before signing up.

Liked for the splendiferous “painfully underwhelming” adverb / adjective pairing. Just two words to paint a complete picture. Nicely done, sir.

As to Mr. Berthoud’s books I haven’t a clue. I didn’t know he’d written any. But as to Al’s parlance? I love that sort of thing. I do cherish a good pair of contradictory adjectives as well; e.g. there’s a trainer at my gym who I’ve referred to as “sickeningly cute.” I think she’d take that as the compliment it is.

That’s actually pretty good.

My next band name.

If anyone has signed up please post your first impressions review…

I have his beginner course.

Its doable, but not exactly beginner friendly, I am assuming that mastering the masters will be on the high side of difficulty.

On his teaching method… its not his forte but he does a competent job.

Let us know if you decide to go for it.

I’d take Danny over Charles any day. I find Charles painfully underwhelming to watch. Humour is what drew me to Josh’s course. I want to see reviews for Charles’s course too as I feel it will be dryly technical

I appreciate Charles’ talent but can’t watch his channel, simply don’t like it.

Anyone else that also feels this way should check out his solo albums though, they are really good.
