I’ve got the meat and sauce in the fridge marinating at the moment but I’ll be making Moroccan Kafta (pretty much just grilled meatballs with cumin, allspice, panko, lamb, and beef) with a yogurt, dill, lemon, and cucumber sauce.

Ooh I love kefta.

Instead of mincing the cucumber all the way, I left them a little chunky. It’s so awful that I’m having a little bit of it as a salad on the side (I made way, way too much).

When I pulled the meat in, I divided them up and let them rest on our plates, so the meat juices all got soaked up by the yellow rice.

It’s been a long day for me. Labor Day long weekend and I drew a short straw and got a day off with the kids and puppies. Rearranged my shed and took the kids to IKEA. My oldest said can we have big steaks today? Oh reaallly!

Stopped by my local butcher shop and got 2 tomohawks one for me and another for the kids. Made some creamy coconut rice, sautéed mushroom, red wine reduction. I sour vide for 2 hours because it’s 2” thick at 130* then threw it on a Barbie for 8 minutes and rest for 15.

I’m in a world of hurt right now, :joy:

Oh grilled asparagus too

Oh and the shed

Excellent! My wife and I got fancy at the beginning of summer and I reverse seared a big honking tomahawk with the smoker. I kept ours pretty simple. I made up a compound butter with truffle oil and some salt and pepper.

Oh, Al… since you’re out there in SoCal, do you mess around with a Santa Monica grill at all? I’ve wanted one for years but the wife won’t let me have one. She thinks I’ll use it to shoot off bottle rockets and light the neighborhood on fire. She might not be completely wrong.
