Sucks. It sounds like EHX has pretty spotty quality control these days. FWIW I had no issue with mine at all so hopefully you’ll get a good one.
I just got a new Bass Clone delivered today, and while I don’t have the noise/hiss issues, I’m having some distortion/clipping issues right out of the box. Unless I turn the bass volume way down, the effect gets so distorted you can’t even hear the chorus. Anyone else experienced this? I tried isolated and then battery as power source, then removed the pedal from the rest of my chain and tried bass > pedal > amp but still happening. Tried with both passive and active basses. If I turn the bass pickup volume above 50% I have to play very lightly to avoid getting distortion. Is this normal? Not sure if I got a dud or not.

Never had this problem with mine - mine was perfect. I did buy it used though.
It definitely sounds like they are having some serious quality issues recently.
Do you have issues with your bass and other pedals too? What kind of bass/pickups do you have?

No problems with other pedals, I tried it on all 3 of my basses and got the same issue. After spending some time on the phone with Sweetwater they’re sending me a new one, will be here Saturday at which point I’ll find out if it really is something on my end.

So weird. I’ve owned a ton of EHX pedals and never had any issue, but it seems like I am an outlier.

Yeah I got a Big Muff a couple weeks ago and it works perfectly. I couldn’t find much chatter about the issue online so it may be a rare thing and we just have a couple unlucky people in this forum.

Due to insane Sweetwater shipping the new Bass Clone arrived today, happy to report that everything is working perfectly with this one. I guess we can safely assume that EHX is having some QC issues lately.
What an awesome pedal though! Solid on it’s own and I’ve already found a couple amazing sounds with it + the Big Muff.

Yeah, distortion into modulation is one of my favorites. Really cool liquid metallic sounding fuzz when you do that.

I never had any problems with it when I got it probably back in September, but I only tested it, and then played with it for a few weeks.
End of September I moved to a new apartment, and then on Oct 1, I was in the hospital til the 20th.
Sadly, I have not been feeling well enough to be playing full time again, although I am starting to pick a bass up a little here and there, I am just not there yet.
So I have not used it for a little while, so I can’t speak to the longevity of the pedal.
However
out of the box it was tip top.
