Extra Basses got to go, wife is not happy

Too expensive to buy from Japan!!!

Yeah I probably wouldn’t waste that on a Sire, the shipping would probably be around $150-200. Generally you want to target $1000+ instruments or Japan-only models (of which there are many).

Then again the bass itself is only $650 here at the current exchange rate, not sure how that compares to the US pricing. You might actually come out ahead

A Z7 4-string with Ebony board, as @Linda prefers, is only $529 from Thomann. Shipping is around 88 bucks, so that’s about $617 total cost, delivered.

That’s pretty sweet - a lot of bass for the price.

I live in Canada. We are not getting ahead in Canada these days

Yep, it’s damn hard to beat Thomann for deals on many brands.

I wish Pitbull Audio had Z7s in stock as they are a primo vendor in the States. Unfortunately, they can’t stock nearly as much inventory as Thomann.

Still, I got the last V8 Pitbull had for a great deal. Right place, right time, and a healthy dose of pure dumb luck on my part.

This store is in Germany It looks like it will be a long long wait 6 months. I think even with the $ exchange it is a good price. I don’t know if there are brokerage fees.
I am going to check out Canada sources first.

Thomann has been nothing far from Superb until now. All my audio gear and instruments come.from there.

3-5 days to deliver for me… in Ireland.
Faster on DHL. Slower on UPS.

Then I agree with the EMG option. VVT would be pretty cool. Although the Yamaha pickups are above the imports average pickup. Yes it’s noisy at the bridge. You can go all active if you have room for battery.

Yes that’s Me exactly. Every time there’s the choice it will first be Ebony, then exotics like Wenge, or Bubinga, then Synthetic like Richlite or Ebonel before Rosewood, then birdseye maple or roasted maple, last of the prefer would be Maple.

There are not a lot of bassists in Canada, most of them are already on this forum,

I love Canadian basses, F bass, Godin, and Canadian made Dingwall.

Yo Al1885
Have you posted any vids while playing any of the G&L basses?
I’m trying for a discount from the $1400. on the SB2 I’m looking at
and I keep wondering if it would be a better choice to buy something else brand new?
Forum members point out so many new basses around the same money with excellent reviews.
The 2000’s SB2’s also get excellent reviews…
Hmmmm… any thought are greatly appreciated. :jbass: :sunglasses:

I don’t know if I have cover with the SB2 I have to go back and look one by one, maybe later I’ll post some especially the comparison of the PJs that I have the Troy Sanders Jaguar, EBMM Cutlass, and the SB2.

Here is the SB1 3 bolt with the MFD pickup and D’Addario rounds. You’d get the idea what monstrous tone you are getting.

This is part of the massive cover that I’m doing playing one song with over 50 basses. It’s been on going but I have archived over half already. @sunDOG planted the seed and it grew. But it’s such a massive project. :joy:

Man, I dig that N’Awlins blues tune and you kill it, @Al1885. Harry Connick is a bad mofo.

Really sweet bass, too.

I’ve been jamming on ā€œSheā€ and ā€œIf I could only whisper your nameā€. But no time to record yet. That album is just a gift that keeps on giving.
