F....buzzzzz

Just noticed this a few days ago…and doesn’t happen every day…but sometimes my fret for the F (on the E string) will buzz badly…then the next day not at all/ Last nite was the worst it’s ever been and even Bb on the A string did the same thing…which has never happened. Weather? Strings getting old? Bad fret wire?..any help appreciated!

Hey friends, brand new to bass and technique. Was on module 1 lesson 5 trying to play on the A string and found out I have a wicked buzz. No other strings. Just that one. And it gets worse when I play on fret 1 but better on fret 5 (that’s the music for that lesson). It’s a Jackson JS2. Can anyone give a suggestion on what I should do? Please and thank you.

Why is first fret so difficult?!

ok, total noob here. Just got my bass. Moving thru the lessons. I’m struggling on what I think is finger strength for the first fret. I rattle on all 4 strings on the first fret (still trying to figure out the problem with my A string but that’s another thread). I just can’t seem to press it down hard enough to get a good sound. What exercises can I do to increase my finger strength to fret correctly? I know it’s going to take time, but anything I can do to start working out the digits wo…

Thanks…but no problems with finger strength. But the first one may be of help…just got some new strings so wouldn’t hurt to go ahead and remove the old ones and do a complete new setup…see it that does the trick…these current strings have been on about a year…with a lot of playing time and all was great until a couple days ago when this came up

Sadowsky did a vid on setting up your bass according to him buzzing on the first fret generally gets resolved with a truss rod adjustment 1/4 to the left.
