Last concert was this past Saturday. We went to see “The Machine performs Pink Floyd”. They’re out of New York.
It was good, but not as good as “The Australian Pink Floyd Show” we saw before Covid.

Fun topic…
First Concert: Ozzy Osbourne Ultimate Sin tour with Metallica (Master of Puppets) opening - pretty sure this was early 1986ish? I was 15 or 16 at the time. Went mostly to see Metallica, but enjoyed Ozzy as well.
Last Concert: Amon Amarth (Cattle Decapitation, Obituary and Carcass as openers) - November 26, 2022.
Probably just not gonna mention names of my first concert, for potential trigger reasons.
Was a pretty good night though, ex gf bought tickets (we’d split up on good terms and stayed good friends),
Just funny it was completely sold out, queues spilling out of the venue way down the street! And when main act came on, practically everyone left, literally only went to see the support acts
Last concert: Therapy at The Garage in Glasgow, was an amazing night out!
Andy Cairns has some top notch banter with the front row crowd, givin them as much shit back as they were yelling to the band between songs, hilarious stuff
Met them in a bar across the road from the venue afterwards and had a few beers with them too, thoroughly enjoyed it! well worth not getting home til 4am with work at 6am
Got a few of those myself, though not my first. One band I am thinking of picked their name specifically for this reason
haha, I can probably take a guess
I mean, it genuinely was a great night, nothing offensive in the names etc. but fast forward 10 years and one of the members got into a lot of trouble, let’s just say that much
Excellent!
I really love band Employed To Serve - were they the opener?
Did you see them?
Yep, Employed to Serve and Alien Weaponry as openers. I wasn’t impressed by Employed to Serve though, but the sound wasn’t that good at the back of the venue where I was hanging at that time. Add to it that I’m not a big fan of most things metalcore
Last concert was Muse in January, Monterrey Mexico. Definitely recommend.
Last concert was Elvis Costello and the Imposters with Charlie Sexton. Last night (March 4th) in Worcester, MA.
BC/DC at Rafters tonight. AC/DC cover band who’ve been playing for 25 years.
I was registering about 125dB on my phone app. So authentically loud in a very small bar. That bass was cranked!
Gn’R was my last (with Cosmic Psychos and The Chats as openers). Axl sounded pretty good!
Edit to add I made a mistake, my last concert was Stray Kids. A K-pop group that my teen wanted to see and it was actually a great show. They had a band for some of it, and the bass player was great
Wonder why they didn’t choose BC/AD, or (BCE/CE) for the band name?
AKA “North Oregon”
As opposed to Quebec, AKA “North Texas”
Methinks you mean Alberta, aka Oilberta.
However, we’re all America’s Hat or the Frozen Shithole of Hoth, if it’s mid-January.
To get this thread back on the rails:
Just bought tickets for me and my kids to Iron Maiden in Calgary in September. September 25th, can’t wait.
Hi, my name is MC-Canadastan and I have an Iron Maiden addiction and fanboy complex.
First: Beach Boys, in 78 or so, I was probably 10 or 11.
EDIT, This is so cool - https://guestpectacular.com/artists/the-beach-boys/events/country/canada/city/ottawa
Last: Just saw The English Beat in a medium sized venue. was quite good! A week before that, at the same venue, saw Chilliwack. This coming Friday I’m going to see a genesis tribute band called The Musical Box.
If you are even a little bit of a Genesis fan you need to see this band. Here’s a little bio about this little band from Quebec:
The Musical Box, the only group in the world granted a license from Peter Gabriel and Genesis, will recreate in its entirety the original 1974-75 performance in painstaking details, right down to the original slide show.
One final chance to witness this unique live experience!
“…so much has been said about The Lamb since we finished, since Peter left, [The Musical Box’ recreation of the show] is the only way to see it since it was never filmed” - Phil Collins
“The Musical Box recreated, very accurately I must say, what Genesis was doing. I saw them in Bristol with my children so they could see what their father did back then” - Peter Gabriel
Update on my latest.
Saw Scary Pockets last Saturday at the 930 Club.
Still a great venue and now they are adding the Atlantis next door to it for the smaller (450 cap) crowds.
Saw TWRP with Magic Sword last Wednesday. The bass slapping, high kicks, and nunchuk action did not disappoint!
