This, exactly! At 74, I have ZERO ambition to be the next big thing. I spent the last 30 years of my working career sleeping in hotels and on airplanes. I like being around my apartment and my dogs. My last flight was Chicago to Paris when I moved here 5 years ago.
Another fun gig last week. Our local bar is run by a couple of musicians. That night was one of the owners brother’s stag party in the bar.
We had 20 drunk guys up and dancing for the first song and they never left the dance floor for the whole 2 hr set. It’s never boring, this live music thing.
Next one is a fundraiser for the local outdoor pool. I’ve bulk ordered led sunglasses, 80’s sun visors and other neon things for us all!
Join a band boys and girls, it’s the best laugh.
You are actually making me miss working in a bar, too. Not even joking, one of my favorite jobs I ever had. Highly recommend it for college age folks.
It’s fun, but dealing with drunks at the load out at midnight can be ‘challenging’ ![]()
Another gig tonight. Charity fundraiser for the local Heritage Outdoor Pool.
Probably won’t be too busy, but as our mercenary semi pro drummer always says; paid practice is the best kind of practice ![]()
Set List
That’s one hell of a set list!
In honor of #33, in case you haven’t seen this before. Not one of the movie clips was sped up or slowed down. Fabulous mashup!
I cannot comprehend how you can remember how to play so many songs. My brain is too burnt for this sadly.
I’m not going to lie. It’s a struggle sometimes. I’ve often started off in the wrong key etc.
But the boring answer is as we know - repetition.
Nope, it’s because Murray’s been shepherding the band with aplomb.
