It’s a 550 but still yes nice use of the SBV, sounds awesome! Love to see it being used.

UGH. TIRED TODAY

Yeah. I really like the tone of it.

It’s also the one I decided to put a drop-D tuner on first, which I use for a couple songs on the setlist. Need to add one to the Reverend.

Related to that, one thing I’m oddly proud of is how badly I screwed up the start of one of the songs, and managed to recover. First, my power cable was covering the song on the setlist, so I tried to start the wrong song. Then, I quickly realize I’m still in Drop-D, and need to fix that while singing. Glad I had the lever Drop-D instead of having to stop and re-tune.

As much as it’s a boneheaded, I’m pretty happy with my recovery.

I was also very proud of, several times during the set I realized we were rushing and I was actually able to adjust my timing and rein things back a bit. Was a bit terrifying in the moment, trying to figure out how to slow everything down without throwing it all off.

I appreciate this thread. My band has been on hiatus over the summer (sadly, having had to turn down a number of gigs we were offered) due to adulting, vacations, etc. We are back at it hard starting in Sept but I’ve had little motivation since our last gig in June.

Part of it goes back to a question that was asked here about getting tired of playing the same song over and over and the answer is yes. We are planning to add a couple new songs but it won’t be for a bit. We need to get back to a solid practice routine.

Anyway, I had even considered just resigning from the band during all the downtime but this helps remind me how much fun and what a unique experience it is to play live

Couple more gigs booked including our local bar which is always packed and hands down the most fun gig all year.

Another fun gig yesterday. We were booked for a local wine festival. Guests got unlimited food and wine all afternoon.

Lots of ladies came in groups dressed up for a good time. Started out fairly quiet but unsurprisingly got pretty busy on the dance floor at the end (Enter Sandman is always a floor filler )

A group of girls in sequined dresses and cowboy hats gave our drummer a note mid song.

It said “I love your drumming, you should call me” :joy: He’s the only single one of us so it’s all good

Get out and play with other people it’s top fun.

Playing our local bar tonight which is owned by a couple of musicians. So we’re going to get one of them up and play a few songs with us tonight. A good way to get asked back  Last time we played they were at capacity (150) by the time we got to our set break!

What’s the color coding for?

Man I love that setlist. Good luck!

The block of colours means we play them back to back with no break (5 secs ish between songs).

Then our singer will chat etc in between the blocks.

So we keep it nice and tight and people stay on the dance floor

Q. Can you play root / fifth and root / octave?
A. Then you’re good enough to be in a band with your mates.

Good fun last night at our local bar. Join a band friends, it’s the best fun

I was all good @eric.kiser

We’re invited back; probably in time for ski season, so it’ll be packed in there. It’s shoulder season here, so a good turnout for this time of year with very few visitors.

He loves us because I plug in our XLR tails straight into his soundboard. We’ve already set the gain levels on our tablet. So it’s about 5 mins for him to balance his faders and we’re ready. No setting up mics and all that faff.

We also got booked for a birthday from someone who saw our show (every gig is an audition!)

Oh and we sold 12 band T-shirts :star_struck:

Playing out live in a band is just part of it. Countless hours in my room learning and practicing, weekly band rehearsals, load in / load out, sound check, hanging around, merch sales, chasing down future gigs and the all important social media side of things.

Worth it though when you get the positive feedback
