First Gig - all thanks to Beginner to Baddass

Tone Samba’s™ - If they’re good enough for John Deacon, they’re good enough for me

A little over two years of gigging with our band. The secret? Practice. Close the door, turn off the phone and practice. Then find like minded friends and go from there.

Thanks @JoshFossgreen for helping me get my start on this adventure.

My brother bought me a Dunlop Preamp pedal for my birthday. I use it as a boost pedal in a couple of songs.

I was talking about the Line 6 and new board. Did you have to rebuild all of your effects chains from scratch or were you able to port them over from the HX Stomp?

I had to start from scratch @eric.kiser. I had the HX Stomp. Made a load of patches and learned the system. But felt I was spending too much time on my Mac rather than playing. Bought the HX One which simplified the process. Enjoyed the simplicity of just one pedal.

Then decided HX Effects would give me multiple pedals but no amp / cab sim and that would be a good compromise.

I had to start from zero and build every patch from nothing. But I already knew the system.

However there are certain blocks that I use in every one to make it simple. I love the Noble DI block for managing the levels between patches.

I create a different patch for each song in our set list (although some are just copies of an existing patch) and then cycle through them on the gig. I drag the patches around in HX Edit to reorder them for our next gig and the revised set list. I don’t have to remember to turn on / off the chorus for certain songs etc. Plus we aim for about 5 seconds between songs and I wouldn’t have time to do all that. It works for me. I think the Anagram is also a superb bit of kit and even smaller and equally capable but I’m not swapping (yet).
