Barn, Barn, Barn. Sorry you’re having a bad day.
Bass playing is good for that.
But banging on (whatever that is) about banging on is not, so best to avoid that practice, for good health and all.

I like them too, and yes they are pricey compared to other bass guitar strings. However, after routinely paying upwards of $300.00 for upright strings,, they seem like a bargain.
they seem like a bargain.
And I hear they last longer before you have to change them, in which case the cost of ownership is competitive
I’ve yet to cross the Upright Bass Rubicon. There was one in my local store a couple weeks ago, but it sold before I could work a deal on it
I just swapped my Rotosound flats to my Jazz bass and put the Thomastik Infeld flats on my 54P. Now, each bass has the strings that sound best for them. The TI’s are magical on my 54P. I should have done this when I first got it. They play and feel so good under my fingers, as if the 54P was made for them.
Oh I’m going to step in it here…Anybody have thought s on the Thomastik-Infeld .43-.100’s?
If all you’re going to say is they cost too much please refrain until you try them
Yes the are pricy but they have silk between the core and the outer windings…they are nickel flats. They, at least to me, have a ‘feel’ to them. They settle in fast and play fast and sound great plucked or picked
Love TI’s . Definitely my favourite flats
TI Jazz flats: got ‘em, use ‘em, love ‘em. They are great strings.
TIs are the best

I run these on my Lakland DJ4 and yeah, they’re worth the price of admission.
Sonically and ergonomically they’re the polar opposite of my current favourite strings (Rotosound stainless roundwound) but on a Jazz bass they’re just about perfect.
TI’s sounds great right out of the box, feels even better as it gets older. It takes a while to break in the feel and get the full smoothness out of the strings.
I have those on my fretless P Bass and I have the 5 string set on my fretless Jazz Bass. I love the way they sound.
I have TI’s flats on my 54P and they are perfect for that bass. I use the TI Jazz Rounds on my StingRay and they are perfect for that bass.
You all sold me. I just ordered a set for my Fuji Gen Jazz bass.

I had these in the beginning and disliked them and gave them away. I think I didn’t know enough then. Guess I have to nab a set and put them on something and see what happens.
It takes a while to wear them in. The strings feels like a half rounds string at first but once broken in, they feel buttery smooth with the best of both world between rounds and flats. Give one another try you’ll love them.
Horns of a dilemma. My new bass, the strings is where Joe made a mistake. I had requested Fender Flats, and he over looked this and put Fender Rounds, aka Cheese Graters, on instead. So I will be restringing the bass.
Do I put on flats or rounds? I am actually leaning rounds, I have flats on my Sire D5. Me rounds? I know, either growing as a musician or more likely losing it entirely. But if rounds, which ones? Bass boomers, or should I go TI?
I have Ti’s on mine. Sound awesome. But it sounded good with the Rotosound flats too. They were just higher tension. BTW, what did you think of the quality of the build?
Oh, DR Hi Beams are awesome as a round as well as TI jazz rounds
