Here’s a very pleasant Brazilian jazz album from 1964. 12 tunes in just under 30 minutes. Perfect for early morning (for me; playing in the background now) or late evening. Nice tight rhythm section.

A nice tribute to NHØP (Niels-Henning Ørsted Pedersen) by Rick Beato. And in some ways a beautiful tribute to Beato’s father and their shared love to jazz.
I went to a concert with NHØP in the late eighties and it was a fantastic concert.

It’s not the lightest of basses, but actually not that bad, thanks not least to the spruce top… maybe I should (again) try out Hadrien’s way of holding the bass… it feels very comfy for playing up high, but a bit hard on my left shoulder when playing down in the lower register…

Yeah he did another version with a bunch of bassists as well, I love this one. I transcribed this a couple of years ago but decided that it was not for me, simply because it was too hard,
I did the first 3 mins, if anyone want to collab on this cover let me know I’ll send you the sheets and tabs and we’ll have some fun.
