…and the funny thing is for me they are all kind of a miss. Like, I am really enjoying the pacing and leveling experience in Classic, and the QoL improvements in Classic Cata, and the UI improvements in Retail, but none nail everything. What I really want is Classic Wrath of the Lich King with the Cata QoL improvements and retail UI improvements. Now that would be awesome.
I did my fair share of gaming as a teenager. Revisited “Inside” (awesome game) a couple of weeks ago. For old school guys here it reminds me to “Another World” in some aspects.
Go check the demo…it will not disappoint.
Just started vr gaming and having a lot of fun doing it. RPG style gaming is so immersive and quite active. Never been a fan of first person shooters on PCs or consoles but quite enjoy them in vr.
Still getting used to it but so far thoroughly enjoyable
Loved that game, just for the art style.
I’ve been playing the new PGA Tour 2k25. It’s a nice relaxing-after-work game (except when my bad putts make me want to throw the controller).
Did anyone test RPCS3, an Open-source PlayStation 3 Emulator?
I still have my PS3 and would like to get rid of it. Having a great emulator would be cool!
I wonder how they emulate the SPU’s (or if they do), or if it is just a PPU emulation.
As long as I can play WipeOut properly, I don’t care
I have played a quite unreasonable amount of Monster Hunter Wilds since Friday and I’m going to play some more tonight. It’s very good indeed.
Football Manager 2024 on iPad. Managing Saint Etienne down in the French Second Division. Five wins on the trot!
WoW dropped to the side-lines, so I cancelled the sub for now. I am now looking forward to the release of Atomfall. I paid for the premium edition, so get it Monday. I live in Cumbria, about 20 mins up the coast from Sellafield (formerly Windscale) so having an RPG game set locally is cool!
And I bought Blood Bar Tycoon. Its not bad. It has a Two Point Hospital / Evil Genius vibe to it. Not sure how much longevity it’ll have, but it’s fun for now
Just started Assassin’s Creed Shadows. Going to take a while! Set in Japan I wondered how it would compare to Ghost of Tsushima - anyway they are both good even though Shadows has annoying RPG elements that I’m not that keen on. Both look great!
My copy should come today and I was wandering the same thing.
About to start Clair Obscur : Expedition 33 (I think I got that right). Looks amazing and the soundtrack seems to be pretty great too. Yay for small(ish) French dev teams.
It looks wild! I look forward to at least seeing some people play a bit before hopping on it.
Oxygen Not Included has been eating up a lot of my time recently. I’m still learing. Did a couple “see how I do on my own” colonies (badly) and then have been trying to follow along with a youtuber’s walkthroughs of the base game and Spaced Out! expansion. I’m consistently 2x the cycles he’s on when completing projects, but I’m learning a lot.
Back in an oldie but goodie and having fun with Battletech. I really wish Harebrained had done a sequel, that game was (and is) awesome.
Very similar to tabletop.
Oh man I love that game and the HBS crew.
We have a monthly tabletop game campaign that’s been running for Quite Some Time Now where a group of us each have our own mercenary company banded together under like an umbrella corporation that handle booking missions and stuff.
Our most recent game was a convoy ambush.
Awesome!
I used to be all about the Eridani Light Horse but that was like 20 years ago.
I love that you and your son are so into PC gaming! It’s awesome that you’ve built your own rigs. I totally get what you mean about the appeal of sitting back and watching things run smoothly—I feel the same way about games like Summertime Saga Mod APK https://thesummertimesagaapk.com/. It’s fun to let things unfold and immerse yourself in the world without constantly having to manage every little detail. I’m all about those chill games too, especially open-world RPGs. Enshrouded sounds great—definitely need to check it out. As for racing games, I hear you on the reaction speed; it’s all about finding that sweet spot between challenge and relaxation. Steam is the perfect platform for keeping everything organized too—so many great games to dive into!
