Gaming! What are you playing?

Its soundtrack is super good. Good game too

Just finished AC Shadows. More time for practice now.

As of tomorrow, I’ll be playing through Cyberpunk 2077 again… but this time on my Mac Studio.

This means W4 Mac is real

Oh I forgot this thread exists. Mostly playing Elden Ring Nightreign lately.

I put a couple hundred hours into Dune:Awakening since it came out and then kinda ran out of nonPvP things to do.

Now that that hyperfocus has loosened, and the new Cyberpunk patch has dropped maybe I’ll start over and finally finish Phantom Liberty.

I liked Phantom Liberty more than the main plot

Same, I have yet to finish the expansion. Maybe I’ll reroll as a corporatist this time.I’ve played the other 2 already.

Corpie gets some awesome dialog options. Like you can often bureaucrat-bully Arasaka people in to just leaving.

Seriously though Phantom Liberty hits hard towards the end. Songbird is the best written character in the game, not joking.

It’s just like Witcher 3; the main game was top tier and then the DLC were even better.

I love how all of the CDPR DLC are clearly based on movies. Blood and Wine was clearly inspired by Interview with the Vampire. Heart of Stone takes a page from Angel Heart. Phantom Liberty is obviously Escape From New York (with a little bit of Ghost in the Shell.)

But then they add a super deep story twist and killer characters to all of them and make them their own. So good.

I’ve been a gamer since I was a little kid, still have all my consoles (the list is extensive) but as I’ve gotten well into my adult years, video games just don’t captivate me quite like they used to. My son & I game together on the Nintendo quite a bit, mostly simple stuff like Smash Bros & Mario Party. My wife never played video games growing up so she struggles with controller dexterity which makes a lot of games simply unplayable for her. Recently we finished our play through of Baldurs Gate 3 which was awesome - took us about 6 months and around 100 hours. We were looking for a game which was similar, but also had coop and so we started playing Divinity 2 which has been a blast! Turn based combat makes it easy for my wife to play and we’re almost half way through right now, closing in on 50 hours.

Any recommendations on similar RPG style games that we can coop? Next one I’m looking forward to is Hollow Knight: Silksong - anyone familiar with Hollow Knight will know…it’s been a LONG time coming so I can’t wait for that one to release!

Sounds like you found Divinity: Original Sin 2 (fantastic game, go Sebille

The first game was very good too, recommend you and your wife do a Lone Wolf playthrough.

All of the older Baldurs Gate games were great too and some of the older companions make appearances as NPCs in BG3. I forget about multiplayer support though.

Pillars of Eternity 1 and 2 were top tier.

Wasteland 2 and 3 were awesome.

We just recently escaped Fort Joy and our party is my created character, The Red Prince, Fane & Lohse. We didn’t know that - SPOILER - all of the companions outside of your party are killed during the fight on the Lady Vengeance, so…she’s dead lol

Appreciate the recommendations!

Fane and Lohse are both great for story too, top tier. Sebille is great for story and also has some just awesome “hey wait WTF SEBILLE???” moments in game before you learn her whole story, at which point the pov shifts to “ok yeah, I can see that.”

Cyberpunk runs really well on my 16GB M2 Pro. I’m probably not getting 60fps but it’s likely close at 1440p, at reasonable detail. Looks great.

It runs pretty okay on my studio @1440p. I’d be shocked if I was getting less than 100fps. We just got my wife a new OLED 4K 49" ultrawide running at 240hz. She thinks I need one now too. I kind think I’d rather put the $$ towards my BB1200 / Reverend / Revstar tbh. I am really tempted to run my DP cable over to the monitor to try it out when she’s working late though. For science.

Playing Black Myth: Wukong and Ready or Not lately. On my 1440p 165Hz rig (5800X3D + 4070 Ti) I sit around 120–160fps with VRR. I borrowed a 49" ultrawide (5120x1440, 240Hz) and it was gorgeous for story games, but for shooters I still prefer 1440p high refresh. A 3m DP 1.4 cable handled it fine.

1440p high refresh is way better than 4k at 30-60fps. IMO anyway. I have a 1440p 144Hz and love it, wouldn’t trade it for 4k.

I have a ROG Ally that I use as my daily driver. I have almost all of Resident Evil permanently installed, but right now I just started Pacific Drive. I mostly play horror, but not entirely.

Pacific Drive has been on my wishlist for a bit. It looks interesting as heck.

I did follow through on my threat from earlier and start a new CP:77 run with the latest patch, about to start on the Phantom Liberty expansion now I’ve chewed most of the main story quests.
