I should go back to CP77. I got in at launch and it was just ridiculous, but I got caught up in other things and never went back
1080p and crank the frame rate is great actually.
Get off my lawn ![]()
Ok this is definitely a genre dependent take.
Just finished Death Stranding 2 on PS5. Problem is it eats into practice time.
I didn’t pick it up until after a bunch of patches and about just a bit before Phantom Liberty, whichever winter holiday that was. Instantly put like 200 hrs in chasing the different endings and life paths. Then PL came out and I was kinda burnt out on it and let it sit for another year or so.
PL is better than the main story ![]()
I am actually doing a run through right now.
Honestly the next game I’ll probably going to get is either Cronos: New Dawn or Dying Light: The Beast. I’ve been hungry for anything similar to Dead Space forever basically and I was super disappointed in the second Dying Light and never finished it, but from what I’m hearing this new one is much closer to the original even though it’s using the new engine.
I am hearing great things about it too.
Back to this for a sec - one thing people should know about CD Projekt Red is just how outstanding their DLC usually are. The reason they take so long is that they really go all out.
In Witcher 3, both Blood and Wine and Heart of Stone were not only fantastic in their own right, but heavily carried the vibe of other fiction that clearly inspired them, bringing a whole new feel to the game. (For Witcher 3, I would say Blood and Wine is a very “Interview with the Vampire” feel, and Heart of Stone similar to “Angel Heart”.)
Likewise, Phantom Liberty is just outstanding and would have made a fine standalone game and has some clear literary callouts. Strong “Escape from New York” vibe with some shades of Masamune Shirow in there too.
That’s my plan for November / December (or October if they shut the gov’t down) when I’ll be burning up all of my use or lose vacation time. I’ve only got 141 hrs left this year.
When I grab new titles to test monitors, I price‑check keys on cdkeyprices first. It compares stores and shows region locks, saved me cash on FC points and a Diablo IV key.
I like https://www.isthereanydeal.com.
Just started Ghost of Yotei. Started well and looks great. Got rid of Atsu’s silly straw hat!
Started playing WipeOut again, now in WipeOut Phantom Edition disguise (basically the very first WipeOut, hacked for PC and with highres mode).
And BallisticNG, which is a Wipeout Clone.
First learning: I’m too old for that sh#t ![]()
(But big fun!)
With both versions you can load your own songs, so I loaded the original Wipeout albums. Very cool!
I was playing Grounded 2 yesterday since it’s free to play right now. Rage quitted in an anthill though. I’ve also been playing dune but that turned into a job after a certain point so I think I’m there. Thinking about scrounging through some survival games I haven’t played yet or maybe going back to some older ones that got updates.
Grounded is one of my favorite building/survival games. It has kind of charm to whole design.
Still on my nth replay of Cyberpunk, then stacked behind it are Hades and Hades 2
Speaking of survival games, some friends got me back into No Man’s Sky. I bought it at launch but last played 8 years ago, so I’m basically starting over because I don’t remember what I was doing and the game has changed so much anyway.
I’ve also been busy with Final Fantasy XIV lately. There’s a pretty big, player-driven social community and I have this sort of virtual bard band. Halloween is coming up, that’s my busiest holiday.
I played it solely for the mog and club scene on…. damn I wish I remembered which RP server. It was the one famous for the mog and club scene.
It does some things so well and some are just such a slog that I can’t even.
Man I wish Guild Wars 2 had a mac version. So good.

This happened to me a while back. It’s shelved again for now but it’s come a long way!
