Oh fun! I just fired up A Link to the Past on Tuesday. I figured I better start taking advantage of Nintendo Switch Online while they still support the first Switch. ALttP is my favorite Nintendo game ![]()
What could be the problem? Does it work with different/new cables for the TV?
I have a PS3. It still “kinda” works, but it started to have problems lately. I think it could be dust inside, and I bought through the internet a can of pressurised air to clean it, but it came without the little straw (pipe?) so I can’t use it. I have to buy a new can, when I have time to go to the shops in person just to be sure the straw is included. Sometimes they are taped to the can and fall off.
In your case it isn’t dust, but could there be an incompatibility with the new TV or cables or something? PS2 is really old. If you have no idea what could be the problem, maybe you could try cleaning the insides with pressurised air?
I know mine has the tendency to get dusty inside (maybe it thinks it is an air filter). It could also be that the little fan the PS3 has is not working anymore and it gets too hot, and that’s why it is not working properly.
I used to play Tomb Raider, but I stopped because it made me tense and my hands hurt and cramped. I prefer to watch someone playing than to play myself, mainly because of this reason. It isn’t good for my hands.
Who here knows this game and used to play it as a child (or teen, or adult) many years ago (in a galaxy far far away)? I used to love Atari games and this was one of my favourites. As a child I loved the AT-ATs from Star Wars, and this game was fun. I loved the sound effects too. Things were very different than today. We took turns playing with my father. He was a huge fan of this game.
EDIT: I found a video on YouTube!
That one was actually after my 2600 time as by then I had an Atari 800. Still, a classic
I hope that it’s just a setting issue. Have ordered a HDMI converter so I can test. Otherwise it might be the battery, which is deeply hidden in the PS2. Will check that too, if necessary.
If that does not work, I will sell it as defective.
My PS1 also has an issue … everything works, but the disk does not spin. This one I will surely sell as defective. Putting effort in solving it does not justify the expected sales price.
I also have the PS3, the “fat” one. I put a jailbreak on it and can do all sorts of fun stuff. Still - it’s gotta go!
The only console that I find hard to part with is the PS Vita. I put the HENkaku Jailbreak on it and now I can play all kinds of wonderful PS1/PSP & Vita games on it … for free ![]()
It’s a great little decice!!!
It gotta go - but I don’t want it to go ![]()
I really liked my PSP. Wipeout Pure!
I have a PSP here. Also going to sell it…
I can play anything PSP on my Vita now. That makes it very hard to sell.
But I can play anything PS1/PS2/PSP/Vita (and others) on my NVIDIA Shield. And that one I will NEVER sell!!!

Man I miss my PSPs. I had an OG fatty 100 model, a black 2000, and a white 3000 slim with a stencil of Darth Vader on it. Hopefully my ex still gets some use out of them ![]()
I was a big PSP fan until today … but a jailbreak Vita is really much better.
I’m enjoying it so much that I start doubting if I will sell it. Sooooo maaaanyyyyy gaaaameeeeees.
Now you’re making me want one… I have Video Game Shit GAS hardcore, I have to really watch myself. I have a handheld Windows device, do not buy a PS Vita AJ
It’s great, really!
Installing the HENkaku is dead easy. Same for Adrenaline, the PSP/PS1 emulator.
And don’t use PKGj … ever … if you don’t want access to 1000s of “free” PS1/PSP/Vita games. Just don’t do it ![]()
This guy makes great videos about that stuff:
And this is a description how to do things:
Could be old age.
In old Hardware, those blue thingies, - how are they called, german word is Kondensator* - tend to die. Sometimes you can even see it because they are bloated, the top is not flat anymore.
Had that on my old Sega Genesis.
*Just remembered: capacitor.
Just think about the flux capacitor. Easy to remember!
I’m still spending entirely too much time in Assassin’s Creed: The Ezio Collection. The games are ancient now but just so well done, like many games from that era.
I still love Valhalla, even with it being the shining example of too much bloat in open world games. There’s just something special about being able to hop on a long boat and sail up and down the rivers of Anglo Saxon England.
Yeah after these three I have Mirage, Shadows and Black Flag downloaded. Should grab Unity and Valhalla too.
Seriously the historical tourism is real and why a lot of people play the games.
My son and I are about to start the co-op campaign on Dead Space 3 later this week. I’m super excited about it, he works and lives in another state from me, and we don’t get a ton of time together anymore. I wish Dead Space one and two had co-op.
I’ve just cracked open my PS4 after some time and am currently way too invested in Detroit: Become human ![]()
