Interestingly, Setzer was steeped in Beatles music since he was a tiny kid. He loved it. But once he was exposed to rockabilly, it stole his heart.
The Stray Cats made great music in tribute to another era of rock and roll. And after that, his big band offerings were equally killer on a far more ambitious, larger scale. I regret not having attended one of Setzer’s New Year’s Eve extravaganza parties held every year in San Francisco. By all reports, they were each a bona fide blast.
