Another common recomendation would be AKG K240s. Or Sony MDR-7506. I own a pair of MDR-V6 and they are great; I prefer the Beyerdynamic though.
I hear it, but it’s a 3.5 hour drive one way and a ferry ride to get to a decent music store. Since we’re heading in the Christmas season factor in another couple hours wait in line for the ferry on the return.
I usually plan the trips around several errands, I only have the one at the moment, will see
After the global lock down I have no problem buying anything sight unseen. I usually know if it like something and keeping them in a few days.
A must have in anyone arsenal is the Koss kph30i I’m talking a “god tier” near audiophile experience for about $25. It sounds just as good as some of my $300-400 Drops headphones, and very comfortable on your head too. Yeah easy to drive as well.
What am I saying most of you probably own a few pairs already. Lol. If you haven’t grab one and check it out. Put it up against your favorite noggins hanger. You’ll know what I’m talking about.
Never heard of them. They are available at one store at a shopping mall near my place BF 17% off from 29 euro… And with home office as the main modus operandi again, I am looking for a dedicated work headset anyways. … Nice, thanks for the tip!
I believe it’s the only 60ohm headphones under $100, maybe more.
This is really a helpful forum. Just saying.
Nah, there’s a few.
Sony MDR-7506 can be had for $100. 62 ohm. Probably the most popular monitors in the world. (Well, the MDR-V6 is, but they are basically the same).
AKG K240 are 55 ohm and ~$50. Not quite 60 but close enough.
AT’s ATH line starts at $50 for a 50 ohm.
Love the Akg somehow never like the Sony. Got the wh-1000 series. It was all the rage. I prefer the V Moda crossfade for casual listening. Anything more serious I’d either grab the 6xx or 800s but mostly 6xx, lol. They get hot and who wants to sweat on the 800s, ha ha.
Yeah I prefer open back myself. I used my MDR-V6’s for years but I just like the Beyerdynamics a lot better.
We shall see - at $20 on sale from Amazon I couldn’t resist. If I don’t like them I’m blaming you. ![]()
Of course at that price the bar is set pretty low.
Besides, I don’t expect them to replace my Audio Technica M40 set. I just want something lightweight with decent sound to use with my phone and tablet.
I’m pretty sure you’d ended up blaming me anyways because you’re going to spend another $25 for the big sister PortaPro.
Dang it. Darkglass is such a tease.
Plus, apparently, time travelers.
Plus, apparently, time travelers.
Ha ha!
I can’t believe it’s going to be 2022. The last 2 years feel like lost years to me.
yeah, I do not want to relive 2021
now, 1986-2005 - line forms behind me
Plus, apparently, time travelers.
Unless they do dates the Euro way. In which case it’s Wednesday.
Ahh.
I am so used to doing dates Japan-style as 2021/1/12 (Jan 12, 2021) and 2021/12/1 (this Wednesday) that I just reverted to US style for that one.
Dark Glass is a Finnish company so they’re writing the date the correct way. Not the bass ackwards way America decided to do it
Yeah the US way is the least logical. Euro way (smaller to larger time units) or the Asian way (larger to smaller) makes more sense than choosing medium/small/large.
We just don’t do units of measurement well in the US.
