Thus just arrived today. I can’t wait to get it home and try it out. It’s more than I would normally spend on a pedal but I had a bunch of gear bucks waiting to be spent from Guitar Center.
Very nice. Eventide is really highly thought of.
Fedex: a package is arriving early \o/
Also Fedex: …but it’s the thing that’s useless without the second package LOL.
#FirstWorldProblems
After spending some time with the Tricerichorus this evening I really like it. It sounds smoother and less wobbly than any of the other chorus pedals I’ve tried. I’ve added it to my board and will probably use it at church on Sunday.
For funsies I looked for that purple bass 4x12 again and it’s already gone
Things are selling quick of late.
Also Also FedEx: why did we bother saying it was coming early when it just left a facility in another state this morning, the day we claim it will be delivered?
UPS and FedEx both do this. I think what happens is they create a label and give an initial estimate based on origin and destination.
But it gets updated when the thing is on the truck and the label gets scanned. Until then the date is very fluffy.
And these days it’s fluffy after too.
Also their systems post erroneous updates so until it says out for delivery I don’t take it as cannon
I think the drivers are getting scared again . . . I caught one guy making a delivery to me that needed a signature. He knocked on the door ONCE. I called out, “Be there in a second” and opened the door.
He had already placed a “sorry we missed you . . . come get it at our office” slip on the door and was on his way back to his truck, before I opened my door
Apparently, he didn’t want me to get close to him to sign the slip. . . .
Another death in customer service.
I take my deliveries at po box, a ups store to be exact, it’s less hassle and I’m not giving my home address out
I had that happen with my SC-607. I was so eager to get it, no one rang the bell, and there was a sound so faint that I thought it was the wind. I didn’t see the notice on my phone about the door camera until later, when I had refreshed the tracking page to see the “delivery attempt made.” The next day he said he rang and knocked, and figured no one was home.
There’s a lot of cars out front and in the driveway XD
Another time recently there was a ring and by the time I got to the door I had to yell for the carrier o.O Iirc FedEx drivers are paid by the package, but this second one was USPS.
PO Boxes are really expensive around here. I once had one about 20 minutes out that was halfway reasonable and still a lot. I did once have a private PO box sort of thing when I lived in this one apartment complex in a more “city vibey” sort of place, I could walk to it and get packages. The apartment office closed before I got home, and it was inexpensive. It’s been a while since I checked into a UPS store box, the last time I did they probably closed before I get home. Back before the pestilence I would often have packages held at nearby facilities if they required a signature.
I live in an unpopulated area, we still have porch pirates. If you can’t get something from Wally World or Home Despot, you have to drive 90 minutes to the next town with a mall. It’s not far, but we don’t have a highway, until you get the town with a mall.
Unless the drawbridge to the mainland is up, then you can add an hour.
I order tons through Amazon as it’s all next day delivery due to proximity. So using a PO box keeps my stuff safe, and I pick it up once or twice a week. Unless it’s a bass, then I’m on it soon as it’s delivered.

So… my birthday is coming up in a few days, and I talked my GF (and CFO) into approving the funds for this little beaut:
That, my friends, is an American Deluxe Dimension IV. It ran a bit more than we were planning for my birthday, so I have to sell one of my existing basses to recoup the cost. Not sure whether to put my Player Jazz up on the block and be like @Wombat-metal with Streams and only have Dimensions, or to put my MIM Deluxe Dimension up. Tough decision.
Anyway, more pics will be posted when it arrives.
Nice!
Do you have another Jazz?
I would keep a jazz bass in your stable.
Is there an advantage to the MIM Dimension where you would keep two?
Beautiful color and woodgrain, @JustTim . . .
You sure can pick 'em!
Your CFO may ask for a raise since she’s doing such a great job on her approvals!
Cheers
Joe
I don’t!
That’s the way I’m leaning, however…
Much like the MIA Dimension I’m getting, my MIM Dimension has a beautiful wood grain to it, whereas the Jazz is a flat (granted, very appealing) blue. The Jazz has a maple fretboard (which I actually prefer to rosewood), but the Dimension has a much more playable neck (for me). My MIM Dimension has a “custom” pickguard and a Zero-Mod thumb rest, both of which could be easily moved over to the MIA Dimension, but the MIM Dimension has all that work and shielding paint I put into it a few weeks ago.
There are advantages to both. I think the Jazz is more sellable, though, and it’s much newer.
Just for the record, I’m not a stream only guy anymore, partly since they discontinued all models. Sadface
I do have two Stream 204s. Both mahogany bodies, maple necks, one has a rosewood fretboard, the other jatoba. One is dual humbuckers, the other PJ in soapbar housing. One is rounds, the other flats.
They look the same but have very different sonic profiles. How will your dimensions differ?
I did not know that. I stand corrected.
Not 100% sure yet. They may not. In which case the decision is made.
