GAS - Gear Acquisition Syndrome (Part 1)

@John_E Jeeze, I try to check her each day, anticipating this one, but you beat me to it! I’m off to view it now.

A couple of days ago, I viewed another reaction from a different person, who has been on the same listening journey, but is not in the same league as Caroline. In his own way, he was informative and at least better than most other “reaction” attempts. He was wowed by almost all of Abbey Road, and quite sad his Beatles album journey was over. I hope Caroline will provide a deeper reaction, with her usual composer’s take on the instrumentation, harmonies, etc.

Ok, outta here!

Hello, my name is Wombat and I’m a gasaholic

I haven’t bought anything really, I got some fret treatment on the way and some picks. I bought a new strap in oxblood for the MDB5 which should be here in a couple weeks.

My main problem is the Charvel. We’re mates now, and I love the clarity of the Di Marzios. It’s like ringing a bell :bell:

I’m gassing. I want more lol. I want a P with a Di Marzio (different one) I certainly don’t need it.

But my stream and Charvel are all I play

Save me

I just paid a very nice gentleman to make me 5 sets of these on his 3D printer. They are risers for wah pedals that keep the original feet so you can Velcro them easier.
Officially GAS’ing for a 3D printer now. I am going to be building a prototype bass this summer and this would help with that and some pedalboard stuffs.:sweat_smile:

I’ve been meaning to get my printer back in action, and/or get a resin printer.

I’m looking at the Snapmaker since it does laser engraving and small CNC as well. Any recommendations?

that is well outside my price range lol. Well, my Flashforge Creator was pricey when it was new, the resin printer I’m looking at is sub-$200. But resin has its own things to keep in mind, like alcohol baths/washes, etc.

I wouldn’t mind having a laser engraver and CNC though…

I have a NextWave CNC machine and adventurer 3 Pro 3D printer. I’m down for cnc for those who can do the cad/cam files. Same goes to the 3d print if you have the skills to design then shoot me PM.

We can trade, I need a few Pickguard s designs for cnc and a few ramps. I can cnc what you need at no cost to you. Just provide the materials and pay your own shipping. As for 3D I can print within the 150mm X 150mm same deal just pay for the filament cost and shipping.

I printed this Vox bass headphone amp holder that clamp onto the stand. Pretty cool!

Thank you for the generous offer @Al1885 ! I have no clue how to make the files. Yet. I found a free one online for these risers. But as I learn I will take you up on it.

Fusion 360 is free. The only thing I have made on my own, however, was a baseplate for a miniature that didn’t come with one XD ie, I made a cylinder, flattened it, and then shrunk the top a bit. Thingiverse is also a place to get stl files of things others have designed that might work for you :eyes:

Thingverse is where we found this file. I forgot to recommend! Thank you @Koldunya

Now I need to start looking for the things. You know. The things I didn’t know I needed but now my entire happiness depends on acquiring it.
Never happens. Don’t know what you’re talking about.

What pick guards do you need design for? I don’t have a CAD system, but I am sure there are some simple apps I can figure out to make the outlines, and or solid models. I mean, they can’t be harder then the high end ones I am used to working with.
Shoot me a list of what you need.

Hey @T_dub same things we talked about. On the Sterling mod I found a better starting point, it’s the Sandberg California Pickguard. It looks very similar. Ramps are pretty much for all my basses like we talked about.

Thanks Toby. Let me know when you recovered from your surgery and ready to go.

Christmas in March.

Just got a notice from my old bank. Seems when I traded in my old Jeep for my new Jeep I paid too much. And I have a check for $448 coming my way. Which is GAS for the flames.

This is not helping me in my DiMarzio attack lol.

hears Alexa alert

“Alexa, what’s my notification?”

“Cajon has been delayed. Visit your Amazon orders page for more information.”

:unamused:

Amazon has really been dropping the f’ing ball lately and it’s just not getting better o.O I get so many delayed shipments, now.

Guess I’ll just play more bass  (and restring the Mikro). and keep drumming on my desk.

Edit I’ve asked others and they’re having the same experience(s) with Amazon.
