GAS - Gear Acquisition Syndrome (Part 1)

There’s a guy in town selling an original Leslie rotary speaker cabinet. It’s $1500, but man that would be cool.

So if I understand correctly this is basically a amp- and cab sim pedal?

Pretty cool!

I was guessing it’s a Leslie speaker effect?

Okay this is pretty cool. I didn’t knew that Leslie origins are from Dutch organs. I’m gonna read more into this soon!

@howard this is what I got from the Hammond website, maybe I am interpreting it wrong…

Derived from the state-of-the art Digital Leslie onboard the new Hammond Sk series stage keyboards and the flagship B-3mkII Organ, the Leslie Pedal evokes vintage 122 and 147 Leslies, and the Model 18, basis of the classic Vibratone Guitar cabinet made famous by Stevie Ray Vaughn and others. The fourth model replicates the distinctive PR-40 stationary speaker cabinet, which was standard issue with Hammond Organs in the 50′s and 60′s, and a “secret weapon” for many vintage studio guitar recordings.

Rotary controls allow adjustment of virtual mic placement, ramp up and down speeds, overdrive, horn and bass balance, EQ and overall volume. Three footswitches provide true bypass, speed and brake control, stereo in/out. A gain switch allows the Leslie Pedal to be used in a guitar effects chain, or direct inject into a sound reinforcement system/keyboard amp.

What a weird and cool pedal - a Leslie effect with an amp

The Postie has just delivered this.

Yeah it’s quite fun. Same electronics they used to sim the Leslie speaker in their later keyboards etc. My guitar friend and I were talking about multi-vibe pedals (which basically sim a Leslie in various ways) and I thought why not go to the source).

Nice one! One of the best multi-fx pedals you can buy imo. Enjoy your ride!

I’ll just leave this here… (they finally added the bass builder)

Gasp, not purple? Kiesel purples are apparently really dark from what I’ve seen…

On paper, so-to-speak…

Ooh that purple looks really good…

Ok this was fun

I’m wondering if the people that have complained it was too dark got the other purple which is definitely darker on the builder… Purple Drink or something.

That little guy on right looks like he is ready to repair all the others if they need it. And maybe set up your bass, also.

That’s the mother ship yeah

It records a whole band session buys everyone beer and drives everybody home!

You ever have the dread that something is about to go off the rails?

I placed the order with Sweetwater for my Dark Queen over 24 hours ago. It still shows as waiting for parts. And they ran the credit card.

Which tells me they have all their parts. what they need is my parts, the DiMarzio pickups. I sent them the tracking number which shows delivery.

They assure me it’s paperwork causing the delay. But it’s over a day and this is uncharacteristically slow on their paperwork.

Hence the sense of dread my pickups are misplaced

Returned the Carvin cab. They have one of those burl burst Sterling 4-strings. Good thing I’m a 5-string player :eyes:

And an ESP 5-string with a nice trans grey finish… And a red C-5 GT. But I will resist.

The red C5GT looks cool. But you’ve got the purple one which is cooler

I hope they are not. Your Dark Queen is the first bass I have seen recently that has really peaked my interest.

I look forward to your hands on review when you get it.
