In my opinion that would be a better way to satisfy your gas. It’s not everyday we try talking someone out of buying a bass around here!
Love that idea. I’d love an old school Kramer double P someday. Can do it on my SIMs bass. Great sound.
Cucci also told me about some awesome pickups made at coilsboutique.com in Israel
The Moonwalker looks interesting
Check this one out…and he did say he would build requests
I would ask him how the bass balances before committing to an order. I gassed over a G&L ASAT bass until I got tired of reading neck dive complaints. Ever notice how the top horn usually lines up with the 12th fret on a classic bass?
I did. He said the balance is neutral. Unless you have a skinny strap then it tends to drop a bit. Luckily, I have the Levy’s 4.5 and all my basses stay put. He is hitting all my GAS desires. I do not have a straight “P” yet.
Anyone ever played / owned an Epiphone Jack Casady Bass?
One’s for sale locally. I don’t ‘need’ another bass but is it worth a butchers? Thanks
Wow that looks great
I did while on the hunt for a hollow body.
Many people like these, but my money went to the Gretsch which I think is way way better sound wise (but that’s just me). I must have played 6-8 different brands (just lucky there were several around NYC) and Gretsch was #1. That said I’d put this at #3, behind the vintage Vox Sidewinder.
I suggest you try before you but.
Did you try a Guild? Starfire? Those look nearly Gretsch level to me.
There’s also the Chowny. Lots o things I would try before an Epiphone.
@howard I don’t need another bass lol. This thing came up in the local area. I was wondering whether if it was even worth looking at
Yep. Did not like.
With it. Yep. If for a good price though and in good shape. They are common.
Irrelevant.
Holy hellfire, that is awesome. I kinda wish I’d seen that when I got my Custom-4.
The short scale isn’t my favorite but side by side the tone of the Hofner is better to my ears. Not to mention the back two anchors in the three point bridge have been slowly extracting themselves on every second hand one of those I’ve seen. It’s a looker for sure. Like all things second hand some love and touch is assumed/needed.
Chinese or German made?
? The Jack Casady bass is 34" are you talking about this or the Hofner?
The anchor issue was a reference to the Epiphone but my Hofner is a Chinese made one with Labella flats on it
