GAS - Gear Acquisition Syndrome (Part 1)

Wow! That’s a seriously cool looking bridge, I wonder if they sell the bridge and what’s the price point, their guitar bridges are $300, lol.

“We’d like to announce our new bass bridge, but you can’t buy it yet” - well that’s dumb. WTF?

“With only minimal routing required” -
Routing?? For a bridge?

Holy crap!!

Yes folks. That’s a giant hole in your instrument…… For a bridge.

Hard pass here.

Route the body? Holy crap. Prolly not my premium bass maybe a $200 Squier, put a $400 bridge on a $200 squire makes perfect sense to me , lol.

I like the Lucy Dreamer too. I want the trinity of Jam Pedals dirt.

  • Lucy Dreamer - Two stage Tube Screamer style overdrive.
  • Rattler - Two stage Rat style distortion.
  • Red Muck - Two stage Big Muff style fuzz.

The Lucy Dreamer is lowest on my list since I already have a TS9B Bass Tube Screamer that I like. It would be nice to get one just to see how the two compare.

I really like that they all have a second stage for even more gain. There’s also an internal trim pot for even more gain with the second stage.

They’re really nice made pedals.

The original BadAss bridges needed a little routing too

That looks like a routing for a trem? Why would anyone want a trem on a bass?

To be fair, this is the guitar bridge diagram. They haven’t released the bass diagram yet.

However, their bridges don’t have a trem, but appear to need to mount that way to be so super in tune I guess???

This is perfect timing.

I’ve got my eye on an original 1957 Fender P Bass. I could buy that, break out my Dewalt router hog out a large hole and drop in my new Evertune bridge. Lovely.

I was about to say. Dunno why you shared this because it’s obvious completely different.

Just wait and see :man_shrugging:t2:

Sounds like a reasonable plan, @Barney - only way to bring those old POSs into the new millennium

Headphones from Slate that simulate a pro studio or car setup. Pretty cool idea

He’s been hard spamming that thing for months now

Really? Only noticed now because I watched Glenn doing a product review. It was probably an older show. The Slate digital mics were really good imo

Slate makes excellent stuff. The only reason I get spammed is I am a customer

It sounds like the same principle as the G&L Saddle lock bridge which requires routing to embed a piece of the bridge into the body. In addition to holding tune for LONG periods of time, it also delivers more vibration to the body for enhanced sustain. Last evolution of Leo Fender @ G&L.

Yes, I got the concept when I saw it.
The bigger question is - why?
Why would you dig a giant hole in your bass to acheive this (if, it is that discernable, which I don’t know one way or the other)?
Seems severe.

Reading up on this it looks like these use giant springs (technical term) to keep the string permanently in tune.

These have to sit somewhere and it looks like that somewhere is in a big hole in the body. I might be wrong but it certainly looks that way.

So it’s like a trem in reverse.

Seems like a lot of complication and effort to avoid… tuning.

Looks like the original idea of Evertune is so guitarists can bend a string to pitch the then when it’s released it goes back to being perfectly in tune. :man_shrugging:

I agree, it wouldn’t be an upgrade I was interested in unless it came installed on a new bass. Staying in tune is a nice feature though, but probably not worth the effort.
