Yeah, on guitar I could see it. But bass? I dunno about the rest of you but bass bends aren’t high up there on my technique list.
A friend of mine owns an Evertune bridge on one of his guitars. He said to me that it’s a pain in the *** to set up, but once it’s done the tuning is always perfect. That said I don’t see myself with one of those things. Too complicated for a very minor benefit in my opinion. A proper guitar with a proper setup stays in tune.
And decent, not-dying/dead strings…stays in tune.
I’ve been playing around with my Strandberg NX6 the strat style and having a lot of fun with the tremolo it came back and stays in tune. I don’t know if it needs to be that complicated.
I think I have had to tune my telecaster three times, even including the freebie after changing strings.
Revstar is almost the same way, might need a tuner upgrade. But that’s just because I want locking tuners.
those are useful only on guitars with tremolo, really
They seemed neat for changing strings too, though I have only done so once with them. Yeah seem like a huge improvement for trems though.
Yes they are! I would highly prefer them on modern guitars
Finally received my VOX StompLab 2B :
My first pedal, at 65 euros because of some supposedly minor looks defects (I’m still looking for these).
Since I’m on night shifts, I couldn’t play a lot with it for now but from what I tried, I like it very very much. It sounds incredible, and there are some crazy possibilities to shape my tone. The interface is a bit … peculiar but it’s not the “unsolvable” puzzle I’ve heard it to be.
I was looking for something not too numeric (I have enough things to connect through USB for a lifetime) and it suits me well. A bit too much since I’m so excited to play with the thing that I had trouble to fall asleep 2 days in a row ^^’
Sooooo…
A Ray5 may have followed me back from lunch.

Forget what I just said, I still want to see it.
Still has the plastic on the pickguard. Forgive the ugly cubicle pics. I love the little Birds Eye’s in the fretboard. Haven’t even wiped it off yet. Soon.
Well, it looks interesting and so I gave it a chance. It’s pretty easy to use, I’ve not read the manual but just engaging and dialing in seems to work pretty well. Hums are gone at idle but still present when playing but it won’t be noticed in the mix. It feels quite premium the knob feels great. I’ll experiment different location in the chain.
I cannot tell you how much that picture gives me anxiety… ![]()
I get stressed everytime he shows a picture of the shed. I fear sometime soon @Al1885 is going to be able to get in, but unable to find his way out.
Worry not @AnotherJosh I’ve created an awesome map for my shed. I would not get lost, beside I have to back out instead of turning around there’s no way I’d get lost, lol.
Just curious why did you invest in an (expensive) noisegate pedal? I’m interested in noisegate too because I like high gain, distortion and fuzz. Actually eyeballing this one and the Decimator.
We could go save him @AnotherJosh!!! @booker_t too! That much thunder is bound to level the shed and we can all be helpful by gently placing all the basses in our respective vehicles to unbury @Al1885. We will be (mostly) gentle. Then we build the bass bunker… who’s in?
