GAS - Gear Acquisition Syndrome (Part 1)

I might even pony up for the slightly bigger version.

Well I wouldn’t park a beer up there but you can put an amp head or rack on one and it won’t slide off. Other users do it all the time. I have one of my guitar amps setting on top of a cab that’s tilted in it’s amp stand and it doesn’t slide off.

There are also non-slant versions available in the 112, 210, and 410 version. Only the 110 and 115 are slant only versions. The slant makes them easier to hear as a stage monitor. You can even stack dual slanted cabs without any problems.

Looks way cool. But I’d have it in virtually any other color that wasn’t pink or purple, though. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

It’s Burgundy, not sure I wanted white
Burgundy and White have ebony fretboards, and I like ebony on the fretboard

The guitar named Pink-chan is well known in a certain demographic. Inspiration?

Sire is doing a cool thing here. I would almost surely choose a Sire over a Sterling just due to all the extra touches Sire puts in.

Well, if I were into the pinkish-hued dreads and Kabuki makeup, I guess I’d be good with that color (although it looks Rosé in the pic, rather than Burgundy).

My Sterling shorty is Olympic White. I dig it: classy and clean. That said, I get why you’d want an actual color rather than plainish white. :+1:

I looked at the new Sterling, and I went with Sire because I think it’s a better value for the money. If I went with a Ray4 good chance I’d want a pickup swap shortly, the Z7 adds a J neck pickup, then the extra things, 8v preamp, rolled frets, hard maple neck; it just seems really nice with no mods out of the box. Sire is killing it in that price range

They are scheduled for mid summer-ish

This! :+1:

Doubt I’d ever spend the money on like a Sandberg or somethin like that, could get 2 or 3 Sires for that kinda money , think Sire’s pretty much the sweet spot for me lol

Price point aside, Sires are worth way more than they sell for, for sure.

Preorder at this point. 5-6 months until they’re released, but yeah

It looks great. Happy your hand is improving because I think you we’re sticking to short scale for a bit.

Yeah I was, and I looked at the new Sterling SS, but I’ve been getting PT and I’m getting better, hopefully all the way. I’ve been making some changes, like raising the bass up like Tom Morello’s guitar, watching how I place my thumb on the neck, doing a lot more micro shifting. Little incremental things which add up.

What’s giving me the most problem on a full length bass now is fretting the first fret, I’ll figure something for that. One reason the Z7 is a 5 string. Need to fret an F? B6 baby.

In the meantime on bad days I stick to short scale.
