GAS - Gear Acquisition Syndrome (Part 2)

Apart from the fact that postage to Australia would be poison, I would be all over that, in red, like a fat kid on cake.
I really want the flying V bass behind him (but only because I like Albert King, is that so wrong?)

I watched that video a couple of days ago. Among other strikes against this bass (mainly my definitely not needing another bass), the chunky neck is a massive no-go.

Sire Marcus Miller new 2025 Models.

Seems those with just new color options don’t have roasted maple necks…

Yeah it’s a full vintage P-style neck, 43mm at the nut.

New setup for rehearsal and gigs.

Two 1x12 Ashdown ABM cabs.

This plus our 1000w PA system ‘should’ be loud enough :sunglasses::boom::exploding_head:

Very true. I have an interesting story to share but not about Reverb but EBay instead.

I have a piece of gear listed both places. It’s a pedal in mint condition barely used with all of it’s original stuff. Box included. It’s less than a year old. I priced it at $170 under the $177 high in the range and the $164 great deal.

A guy offer $150 alluding to his having to pay tax and shipping and wanting to keep his total price below X. I could offer to ship N/C at my price but not his and I’m not the one charging him sales tax or collecting it. Do buyers realize this?

Anyway, even after making him a counter offer we couldn’t agree so it’s no big deal but it also serves as a reminder of just how much better off buyers are to buy locally whenever possible. If this buyers numbers were correct tax and shipping added 15% to his cost. I could offer free shipping or the lower price I countered with but I have no control over sales tax. It is what it is based upon his location just as it is with mine.

But I will say that the huge increases in shipping costs for may items coupled with sales tax now being charged and collected at the sale have made selling online far less beneficial that it once was for both buyer and seller and that’s not including the 6.5% to 8.5% selling fees a seller plays. I often read about listed prices on Reverb being too high and while those are not the sold prices higher costs for sellers is why.

It does beg the question… why 27? Why not just make 26 louder?

Yeah, but this goes to 27.

They’re all the settings past 27 to get it even louder.

You need to buy the 800w version to unlock those.

We’ve got a gig in a few weeks for our local hockey club social fundraiser.

I have a feeling it’s going to be a loud fun one :sunglasses:

I’ll let you know how it went with the new gear. I know @gio likes a loud gig!

Been wanting one for awhile. Found an open box one online for a good price. Should arrive on Thursday. Now, all that’s left is to find a really good deal on a second BA 10-2 S2 cab. Then the rig will be complete.
