This is Martin Gore on a keyboard … so that would be you?
That’s extraordinary! He was certainly wearing clothes when I went to see them last year!
Hahahaha … yeah, that was in the good old 80s. Everyone of us has pics of us doing (stupid) stuff nude in those years, right?
A friend of mine was involved in their tour mangement and told me that Gore often played drunk/nude in the hotel bar, after an gig - while Gahan was taking (drugs with) groupies and Wilder was playing with himself (on a synth) in the hotel room…
I didn’t believe it until I saw this pic!
Eerrrrrrr, no.
Just ask your friends. I’m sure that they have some polaroids you thought would not exist. I know my friends have, unfortunately
Why do I keep browsing the bass section of my local Music Go Round when I have two perfectly good basses that I can barely play?
Clearly it’s because those two aren’t the right basses for you. Gotta keep buying 'em until you find the one that magically goves you talent.
Fortunately when I was going through my dumb period smartphones did not exist, there are no pictures so I can deny everything. And do
Hahaha! Yeah!
Unfortunately I spent the 80s and parts of the 90s in an arty-farty environment, so polaroid, 8mm and all kinds of cameras and recording equipment was always available and used heavily. I even saw some very strange paintings I cannot describe here…
I am so happy that I was straight edge and generally a restrained person (which not everyone will confirm), but I am still astounded, how many pics of me in very weird situations turn up when I visit old friends. A lot of LOL and ROFL is happening then…
Must be fake
Fortunately, by mid 90s I learned to avoid cameras more or less, in situations where my stupidity takes over …
No clearer form of communicated denial has ever struck me so deeply.
GAS hit big time for me a few weeks ago and after some discussions with one of my bass suppliers outside Orlando, my latest bass order has finally shipped and should be here (hopefully) by this weekend…!!.. Totally STOKED!!
Gonna be stepping into new bass territory with this one…. Lakland 55-02 Five string fretless…. Figure I’ll use it to retake @JoshFossgreen ‘s “revised” b2b course since it’s been a good six years since I took the original so should be a good review and relearn using a fretless fiver….
Already ordered new LaBella Nylons for it, and will snap a few pics when it arrives…. Till then, here’s some pics of it that were taken before it shipped….
Keep on Thumpin’!
Lanny
Coming to the US
That looks gorgeous, Bill. Can’t wait for the first cover. Congrats!
@Lanny you’ll love it, especially the 5 string. It’s so good. I love love love their 3x2 headstock.
I know 2 songs on guitars and I have over a dozen Strats. It’s not about need, it’s desire,
You spelled lust wrong @Al1885
You just desire too much
I’m not generally a fan of bare wood guitars, but that does look good. It should be fun learning a fretless
I have also revisited the B2B course using my 5 string.
Thanks Al, that’s what I’ve been told by several bass players who use the 5 string Lakland. As for the headstock, I also love the 3/2 design for several reasons. Although this will not be my first five string, it will be my first fretless so am looking forward to developing my chops on it. The bass finally showed up at the bass dealers shop late last week and is scheduled for delivery here in Middle Georgia by tomorrow afternoon.
I totally hear ya Andrea…. When it comes to bare wood bass’s/guitars, I’m a bit picky on grain design. I had several clear wood bass body’s to choose from with choices from “Quilted” to “Spalted”, and was drawn specifically to this body for the almost perfect mirrored line design of the spalted veneer on the body’s surface. The black spalt lines are like wrinkles that kinda resemble who I am in my old age…
