Great sound, I’ve bought exactly the same some years ago.
Anybody know where I can get a site Marcus miller P7 (gen 1) pickguard?
This one is warped. I thought maybe this delaminating plastic was for shipping but apparently it’s the top layer and removing it leaves a dull STINKY mess behind.
I lovingly named this one “Ugly Marcus” because of the warped pick guard and some other fine details. But once I fix these cosmetic details this is one heck of a bass!
Y’all get pretty pics later. Here’s Ugly Marcus in all of his glory!
The only option I’m aware of for Sire Marcus Miller P series Bass pickguards is getting a custom one and they’re a little pricey. I’ll be getting one for my P5 just because I can’t stand the tort especially with mint green. I’d recommend pickguards.com
Sire isn’t able to accommodate getting pickguards at present either.
Here their response a while back:
Thank you for contacting Sireguitars and for your inquiry.
Unfortunately at the moment, we do not sell the pickguard separately.
However over time some of the parts and accessories will be available for separate purchase in the future as soon as possible. Unfortunately
this might take a little more time but we will do our best to make them available to our players asap.
At the moment we do not sell different color pickguards for upgrade purposes.
The replacement parts at the moment are for damage purposes only.
In regards to your question about the Sire P5 hard case, we can place an order through our factory and it would take about 4 to 6 months to arrive.
Please let us know how you would like to proceed.
Thank you for choosing SIRE!

Seems like that would apply in this situation?
Could try going that route @MattyD ? Stating that it was damaged but I’m guessing you’re not the original owner?
Yea I just picked it up today used. Other than the pick guard and some naughty inlays this bass is a monster for $375
There is a local swap this weekend though and while I have the material and could probably cut my own I might also just sell it and pocket $100+ or try and get a higher end Jazz bass. I really wanted the V7 but I couldn’t pass this one up.
Might be a resource.
Cool! Thanks @MikeC
…dang don’t see a P series 4 string option though. Could be worthwhile to contact them. I may try myself
Oh dude thanks! I also emailed Squire to see if they have any ideas.
I really might fall hard for this bass though. I’ve never played anything with this much sustain. I’m almost afraid my muting isn’t on point enough to handle it.
it is
That’s weird because on most instruments it leaves a nice beautiful fresh pickguard.
Yea I saw there was clear plastic pieces already there I should have not poked the bear
