GAS - Gear Acquisition Syndrome (Part 2)

I had some very different pedal related GAS that arrived a couple days earlier than my fuzz pedal, but I needed to make sure I can get working before I posted.

Now I have a pedal form factor midi controller I can set up to turn pedals on and off in plugins, start and stop recording, use as an expression pedal, and use to trigger looping functions. I’m hoping the looping functions can get set up well since those are what drove me to buy this. Worst case I bought this used so I’ll have to eat shipping if I resell it.

That’s rad. I’ve been looking for something just like that to try and run from Logic Pro on my ipad (some kind of docking station is gong to have to be involved).

Here’s one for all the Fender Enjoyers:

I had a DiMarzio Model P in my P-bass and IMO it sounded much better than a stock P. One of my favorite P pickups.

Fender puts DiMarzios on their Charvel line of basses, a distinct upgrade from the more expensive player series

They are light-years better than stock Fender pickups.

Tempting but trying really hard to not add any more basses this year. The “Custom U” shape is intriguing for sure.

I know that there are a ton of fans, but I really can’t stand pickup and bridge covers.

Getting back on the horse I rode in on and exiting stage left. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

And unlike some of the others, in 20 years this one will still be both good and also still working fine. Line 6 gear ages well, the original PODs still sound great.

I still really like my GX-10 a whole lot… ngl though, if whatever is comparable size wise turns out to be awesome the Boss is going to Music Go Round. I held off on buying a line 6 because I had a feeling this was coming this year.

Roland/Boss make good gear but Line 6 is the next level up really.

Those look awesome, but at $1800 and $2200 I’m hoping for price drops on the existing stuff that’s more in my budget. I also don’t have amp captures as a priority, so the biggest new feature besides the touchscreen isn’t valuable for my use case.

$500 helix LT would get my money though.

I’m expecting (hoping) there’s more coming this year to upgrade the Stomp line. That’s really what I’m waiting for.

Holy crap! I was expecting more of a minor revision, bolting on a touchscreen to a Stomp, maybe NAM support, yadda, yadda.

Just watched the full video. Could not believe all the awesome new features they’ve packed into this thing!

@Nebel - is that you? :slight_smile:

also still totally fine with the GX-10 but if they release a stomp version for $1k or under i would get one. i almost pulled the trigger on a darkglass anagram but i’d love to have something in the helix line (it’s nice that helix isn’t just for bass too)

Mostly same but if whatever Helix stomp dive bar or whatever its called comes out without dual XLR, I’d have to look hard at the anagram. I love being able to run 2 outputs into my mixer.

Just about to push the button on this order in Ducati white :sunglasses:

That’s really pretty. It’s my fave of all the finishes for that model.
