Looks like these are already going out?

Just ordered a Wingman Bass from Baum (Denmark). Last one in stock with $400 discount. 7.5 lbs weight and a 45 day free return window.

I’ve had my eye on this for a while. I would usually run a mile from gold hardware but there’s something about this one :man_shrugging:

Lee Rocker lookout! We have John E Rocker now.

@John_E I’m embarrassed to admit it’s now 5. I don’t know how it happened :man_shrugging:

As do I.

I shipped 3 basses and a guitar to France 4 years ago when I moved here. I got hooked on the food, bread, pastries, cheeses and low tone candy. Now I have 3 guitars and 20 or so basses. Oh, and a bunch of extra kilos.

I’m back down to 4 @John_E as one just went back

Bummer. Will you replace it?

I’m think so, but I’m going to wait and give them a chance to iron out some of their QC issues.

They were very good about it. So from a customer service perspective it’s been a positive experience. :man_shrugging:

I’ve got this coming in January, so it’s not too sad

I think two others bought them too, no? Any issues? Was @sunDOG one of them?

Wow. That’s… not great

Not me, I lust after one…

I’m surprised that there are QC problems, disappointing.

My two, a black 4 and a white 5, were flawless. I’ll count myself fortunate.

Happy Christmas to me :santa_claus: Treated myself to this as a replacement for my Epiphone EB-3 (couldn’t get on with the mahoosive neck-dive). The balance on this is so nice, and it plays nicely (at least for my uneducated fingers).

Looking forward to spending more quality time with it in the New Year. It’s my first active bass so I need to figure out how to use the pre-amp properly, and it’s full-scale so I’ve got to work harder to navigate the fretboard with my baby hands

Last week we played an open mic. I wanted to use my Ampero as I had a couple of different tones - clean and dirty - for different songs. I also use it as a tuner. But…the chap that plugged me in, plugged my active set up into the passive input on the bass amp, unbeknown to me. I sounded awful on the first song, boomy and full of feed back. The quick solution was just to plug the bass directly into the amp - right socket - and carry on.

This got me thinking that in an open mic situation, maybe I should simplify things and just go straight into an amp - no pedals. But, how to tune? I really don’t like the look of those tuners that you clip to the headstock and if I’m doing away with my Ampero, I don’t really want to be plugging in a tuner pedal…so here we have the Korg Pitchstrap. Once I’d worked out where to place it - it really needs to go as close to the strap button as possible - it’s pretty cool. Pluck a sting and tune to the lights. It tracks well with the Ampero tuner, so I’m pretty happy. Plus it’s black, on a black strap, so very unobtrusive, stealth even! :sign_of_the_horns:

Happy Christmas all!

Merry Chrismas! That Korg pitchstrap looks really cool. :smiling_face_with_sunglasses:

I am just a bit puzzled about your first part. You know you can just adjust levels to make your signal less hot? For example turn down the volume on your active bass and crank the amp a bit more. Or change a level/gain setting on your Ampero. Or am I missing something?

This is also why I highly prefer a level/gain knob on amps. On tube amps I find it more nostalgic to have two inputs :hugs:
