I did a lot of looking into the BB234, and I must say she is growing on me with the Yellow Natural Satin.
And at the store she is only 50$CAD more than the 174.
Sadly both of them are out to stock (they only have the 174 in the OVS color)
When they will have them in stock, I will go try them and see which one feel the best for me.

Hi there,
My choice would be the 174 because I’ve been playing its predecessor (RBX260) for years and years.
If possible, try the basses in a store. See if there’s one that feels better or balances better for you.
Also, you can often find used ones for even less money, as people feel the need to upgrade. But you could direct your yearnings towards amps, pedals, … and who says one bass is enough (I do)?

This thing looks pretty interesting. I’ve been considering a Radial active DI box. I might just have to wait and see if this is any good when it hits the streets.

Strymon builds good stuff, I was impressed with the power supply.
Same goes for Radial, but a headphone out is kinda unique on a DI.

Well… it is done!!! 
Went to the store to try the TRBX174.
It felt so good and nice play! Day and night with the one I got in the starter kit.
Had no choice to take it! I was not going back on the other after trying one that felt so good in my hand!
The luthier is going to do the setup and I will go get it tomorrow. Can’t wait!!
With that store they offer a free setup within 12 months!
I was able to get it at 250$CAD (180USD)
