GAS - Gear Acquisition Syndrome (Part 2)

Anything else would have surprised me. Why would anyone buy their tuners if that weren’t the case?

It’s intuitive and easy to tune. It takes a few seconds to get used to the goal is to stop the moving strobe.

It’s so accurate that most people choose to go with “Sweeten” tuning so that it sounds normal to the ear :joy:

Paying extra to get your tuning to sound off… Genius :joy:

I can’t speak for others, but I can tune all strings on my bass accurately with my Peterson Strobostomp in a few seconds.

Yeah, like I said, the reason the strobe tuners are great isn’t the accuracy; almost any tuner is accurate enough.

They are great because of how easy and fast it is to dial in the tune to that accuracy on the strobe display. It’s a great way to visualize it.

The HD in particular has a fantastic display.

I’ve had one of these for a few weeks, and dig it a lot. Tiny pedal but it’s all display, so easy to read while standing.

I’ve owned a PitchBlack clip-on tuner before and it was fine. Classic line of tuners.

Speaking for myself, your bass is way too far away from me for that.

But yeah, +1 meeeelion for the StroboStomp! Bonus if you want to learn fretless and check your intonation from time to time, it’s quick to update in real time while you are playing and easy to see on the floor when you’re standing.

That’s why God created FedEx and UPS.

Just send me whatever you need tuned, I’ll tune it, and I’ll send it back…eventually. :smiling_face_with_horns:

Yeah I want to reiterate this - this and the gorgeous display are the real reasons to buy it. It’s just so easy and intuitive to dial in fast.

True that.

How does the Strobostomp compare with the Boss TU-3? I’ve used the Boss pedal for years on guitar and not planning to swap it out or anything, just curious.

I’ve owned a Tu-2 (great tuner) and the StroboStomp is much faster to use and dial in, and way more visible while tuning. Accuracy about the same.

Cool, I’ve not used the TU-2 but I hear the 3 is much faster, so probably not much separating it with the StroboStomp then.

I would say to try the StroboStomp - it is more about the display and how you use a strobe tuner than tracking speed. With it, you are faster, not the tuner.
