GAS - Gear Acquisition Syndrome (Part 2)

That would be great! I am curious how it compares to other (especially P/J) basses, tonewise, and how you like the short scale (compared to others).

The body seems quite large, right? At the same time it seems almost as thin as a solid body.
In fact, the large body might have been the decisive reason, NOT to obsess about this bass too much!

$699? They oughta put you in Jail for stealing it, and T-Shirt too? That 2 counts,

@Whying_Dutchman back in my cycling days I was a Magura flag flying member and I have a friend who lives (still friends and still there), in Germany so I thought buying from there would be cheaper than here. To my surprise, not only there were less models choices, they were also more expensive as well and that’s before VAT and shipping. WHAT???

No. That’s also a reason, why I can’t get too much bass gear (I also have other rather expensive hobbies).

Every time I look at US websites I feel utter envy cause of choice and prices! I remember, spending hours and hours in US malls, when we did our road trips in California. It was consumer paradise … very bad for me

$699 was just the bass and the hard case. With the t-shirt and tax, it came to $769.

I’m used to a short scale be cause of my Hofner. I’m really interested in tone.

I like it. It checks many boxes for unique features. Large pole magnet pickups, set neck, 30ā€ scale, semi-hollow body.

I played it a few times at my local GC, however it was $1200 price tag which I could probably get it for $1100 out the door but it’s nowhere near your $700 price tag.

My only wish is that, it’s smaller or shorter. For a 30ā€ scale it’s pretty full size length.

I just started noodling with it, and I’m not used to the large body. But it’s still fun!

I got my triad for less than that. That was why I jumped at it the way I did. I just ordered some new strings for it today (GHS pressurewounds). The rounds on it are starting to sound dull. That’s what I"m telling myself at least.

Could have put this in the ā€œfunā€ thread, just because these basses are so adorable and they look absolutely comical on Federico Malaman’s big frame

But I am also very much GAS’ing for one of those:

Yeah, man. I love the one Malaman’s playing.

If Mayones would give me a guarantee that I could play like these two cats if I bought one, they’d have my money right now!

Yep, checked with the sales rep and that is definitely included. There is a little flip switch to select either HF or FM mode :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

I bet with the right pedals and effects it could, and I’m half-tempted to get one and find out!

I’m a big guy, a bass like that would only make my stomach look bigger. Can I have a 2x sized bass?

Dude, Federico Malaman is a man of stature and girth. Playing a Mayones Cali ain’t about how big it makes you look; it’s about how big it makes you smile.

Ok that was cute

Heck. I’d buy 7 one for each day, :joy:
