Ok now, Portugal is their mens cologne. Despite being kind of unisex I guess, women buy it too. Who doesn’t like oranges?

No comment on the typical age ranges though. Most of the people I have found using it were older, gruff men.

“Gruff men” would also be a great band name

Waaaaay too rich for my blood anyway, but for some reason I didn’t expect to see this hanging in my local Guitar Center:

I can picture the jingle “are you gruff enough”

Even though it’s German, it’s gotta be the most Dutch cologne ever too; it’s literally made of Orange

Yeah, I have to say it’s an excellent bass. I made a terrible mistake of playing it. Now it’s on my list. I played @booker_t at our last SoCal meetup an it’s just super awesome. The butterfly is just so darn refine.

Is there any news about your Dub King purchase?
Yesterday night I dreamed about the Reverend Dub King, and a) it sounded great because b) I could play it really well (in my dream).

So this morning I woke up and wanted to have one.
Until this dream I wanted to buy a cheap short scale and upgrade the hell out of it (see: Short scale decision made: Harley Benton MV-4MSB Gotoh! But how to mod?)

Now I am thinking about getting the Dub King and hiding my 6 string guitar somewhere and replace it with an unmodified Harley Benton MV-4MSB (to save money), hoping that my girlfriend wont notice that I got two new basses instead of one.

But the Reverend is hard to get in good old Europe (UK is not Europe anymore ^^), so I need to know first, if this purchase makes sense!?

EDIT @Al1885 I’m sure you have one in your vast collection. What do you think?

No purchase yet unfortunately. Might be awhile still, way to much summer stuff I need to do that’s going to hurt the wallet.

Got in touch with a UK based dealer today. They are waiting for delivery any day now and it would cost me about 1000€.
I wish somebody could talk me out of this!

@Al1885 - any thoughts about the reverend dub king? I really hope it s#cks, as this would be an unplanned expense.

I don’t own one, yet :joy:. The only similar one I have is the Warwick Leland Sklar Starbass, a that’s not even like a regular semi hollow starbass, it’s actually chambered.

That’s a beautiful bass @booker_t !

Yeah absolutely. He brought 3 papillons. I have a slight bias towards the Yin Yang but the Jazz and the P are just sublime.

But the fact that you are not running to a guitar shop straight away tells me, that it’s not something you need, right?

Then I can wait too ^^

I would love to have one of those
Meshell Ndegeocello signature basses of theirs (the red/black/green one behind him) :star_struck:

Love Meshell, especially “Makes me wanna holler”. A very simple bassline, that plays so subtly with emotion…

If the Dub King would make me play like her I would have already ordered it ^^

wait, you mean that doesn’t come with it? :joy:
