Oh wow, that looks so good!
Grats, one item on my wishlist but
I am soooo torn with thisā¦. Sold my NUX MLD preamp/DI pedal (needed money, but it was awesome for silent practice), and what I really miss now is the drive (OK and cabsim for headphone practice).
So first I thought now that have income again go for the Joyo Momomyth (awesome reviews, excellent drive/distortion PLUS EQ end DI - assuming Iāll ever make it to stage).
TBH always wanted to get the Stomp but still ātoo good for meā.
Then for about the same price as the Momomyth I could get the Zoom B1 Four. Tuner, compressor, effects, drum patterns for practice, looper, multiple effects including drive. Butā¦. So weird stuff. Then looked around, doubling the price thereās the Pod Express (with PC software seems very nice) but then weāre pretty close to this Boss GT1-B. Which is only a tiny reach from the new GX10.
Dude, I want something, best would be having these in one unit and below 250Euro: DI, aux/phones, cabsim, USB interface, 2025-proof (like no oldie but goldie stuff). I donāt need expression pedal, so far not much into extreme effects, have tuner (Poly) and compressor (Bass Preacher) but if all can be in one pedal that is my dream. Not for the price of the HX Stomp though. Or letās just roll with the Monomyth for now. Or the Zoom B1 Four with a Behringer BDI21 for DI
Any idea, thought is appreciated!
A little bit more expensive, but here in Germany everybody is raving about the Boss ME-90B
Donāt know if it fits your requirements, but here everybody either wants it or has it!
(I donāt , as I do everything in software)
Thanks, will check it out (looks similarly priced as the new GX10?)!
I went with the GX-10 for a couple reasons. I wanted an all in one solution mostly because they are quite powerful, fit a fairly small footprint (depending on which one you get), and I would have easily paid more than the cost of the unit by the time I got an actual pedal board setup and would have had far fewer effects and likely no amp/cab sims.
I have zero experience with any other pedals however if I were going to go with a more budget multi effects it would have been the Zoom B1 Four but Iām glad I took a buy once, cry once approach and got the Boss unit. That said it probably is overkill for what I need but at least I can grow into it
Would something like the new Harley Benton multi effect pedal be what youāre looking for? It seems to fit your requirements and pricepoint.
I was eyeing with the Git Core but thatās not available now (basstheworld.com did a nice teaser), this one is higher priced but - itās also not on stock at Thomann
But will read - BTW itās the same ballpark pricewise as the Boss GT-1B.
Soooooo tough
I think the Zoom B6 ticks all your boxesā¦ Except the price
It may be worth waiting for the backorder to come in, the site says should be available within a few weeks. I would much rather go for something like this than a B1four, as you saidā¦ this one is at least a modern multi effect pedal with modern features where the B1four is getting pretty long in the tooth at this point.
Thatās why I seek your experience/advice here, Zoom is cheap but not bad - still wanna get some real kickass stuff (for cheap of course ).
Now for basically similar price there are Boss GT-1B, GX10, ME-90B, HB DNA Git Pro.
Not much closer to deciding (right now watching Andertons ME-90B extensive review, this is a big BIG board!), still not sure where to aim
I spent weeks in that rabbit hole. There are so many good options available each with their own pros and cons. Itās one of those things you probably canāt go wrong with any one of them so you just have to find the one that has the feature(s) that sets it apart from the rest
I use a Hotone Ampero One. Well, I say that, Iāve just upgraded to the Ampero (the next one up in the range). Both units have all the amp and cab sims you might need, have pedal sims galore (inc. compression, delay, overdrive & distortion, chorus, etc), work for silent practice, have aux in, two outputs for stereo out, should that be your thing, works as an interface, have a small foot print etc etc etc.
The majority of my covers have been recorded on one for the last 6 months, including todayās.
Basically, they are a cheaper version of the Line 6 units, and as far as I am concerned, they do the business. I also have a Zoom B1four, this is a step or two above that in terms of sounds you can create, ussr interface, etc.
Iām listing the Ampero One for sale sometime over the weekend, fully working order, great condition, with box. Iām U.K. based.
Thanks ! Itās my kids & wife favorite now
Looks promising (other than DI - currently not a must have though). What would be the option for selling to Hungary? And what is the successor? Thanks!
I also like the Ampero stuff. I have the Ampero mini and it works great for home and even a band setting.
Why not get another one?
If considering a multi effect, find sound samples of the drives. Not all multi effects handle drive sounds well. Make sure it can do what youāre looking for.
Local Music Go Round has a Ray34 for $450.
Thatās a good price, but not quite ādonāt missā. I do not need a new bass yet and had kind of made up my mind that next would be G&L L-2000 or something else double-humbucker.
May go over and test-play it just to get a feel. The local GC only has Ray4ās and I didnāt like that neck.
Edit: dang they also have a Cordoba Mini II Bass for $180. Similar story on my feelings, but more tempting. Definitely something I want to test-play.
Well - this is the GAS forum still?
Had that, liked but want something else
The successor is the Ampero, basically the next one up in the range. I got a deal on it, hence selling the āOneā. To be honest, they are not that much different, and I actually prefer the simple stomp up / stomp down to move through the presents on the āOneā compared to the bigger unit. The bigger one has two XLR outs that could be useful at some pointā¦
OK, I nearly managed to acquire a Fender Downtown Express (compressor, EQ. Drive, DI in one) for extremely low price but option slipped as guy decided to keep unit within the band (due to the guitar player request). No problem.
But back to ground zero; now tending to aim for the Ampero One - and just realized it also doesnāt do DI (XLR). Similarly priced as the Boss GT-1B but
- Ampero One probably has more resell value (as supporting guitar players as well);
- both having aux in / headphones out for silent practice
- apparently neither having DI solution
So last two questions on this topic (hopefully):
- GT-1B or Ampero One is better choise for bass all-in-one solution (mainly but not limited to compressor, overdrive, octaver - maybe recording myself)?
- If in need of a DI without having an amp with DI on stage what would you recommend as cheap but decent solution to be added after the GT-1B / Ampero One? (e.g. Behringer BDI?)
Having some ( ) itch to pull the trigger tomorrow, maybe SunDOGās offer would bring the solution but until that I have these 2 options as finalists
Edit: apparently killed the thread
