I own the ProFX10v3. It’s great, my only gripe is the audio interface input is only on the master outs. Same is true for the Yamaha though. (Technically the Mackie has two in and four out, but it’s complicated.)
The effects exist. I don’t use them. The preamps are decent. Having Mixer Inserts is a much bigger advantage over the Yamaha though, a nice touch and I did use those (think: effects loop per channel).
Same is true for the separate control room vs master outs. Definitely a nice feature that I use.
The Headphone out drives my 250 ohm DT990Pros just fine with no tonal or volume issues, so no need for additional headphone amp.
All in all I’d recommend the Mackie over the Yamaha.
Well this actually might be finally happening.
The “mystery bass” has shipped.
Sadly, to my work address and I won’t be back there til the week after next, so more suspenseful must must ensue.
Since the topic of this thread is posting about our acquisitions is anyone gassing for an FSR CV '60s Jazz Bass in Lake Placid Blue? I have one for sale. LOL
I’ve wanted a Fender Kingman since I heard Steve Harris playing one. They run about 600 new and I’ve looked at them a few times but never pulled the trigger. Well, the Gods decided that I should get one! Who am I to defy the gods, right? Wel last night I got one of those GC texts stating the Kingman was on sale 150 off! I pondered it hard but didn’t come to a decision by the time I woke up. Somewhere around 10 AM today, I checked my Florida Fantasy Five Lottery ticket and much to my surprise, I won $555.00! My Fender Kingman will be in by Friday or Monday! Thank the Gods! As a bonus, I passed my wife an extra hundo for Black Friday!
Several of my bass heads have had on board compressors. They’re all gone now and my Genzler Magellan head does not. Dealers are offering 20% off on the Keeley Bassist so I ordered one. IMHO Robt Keeley has always produced great compressors. They usually list for $199 but anyone considering on can get it for $159 and change. That a great price for that pedal.
I absolutely love my 24CA but my 5 string ray wasn’t my fav. If you need a 5 string it’s a great option but that extra string adds weight and the fretboard is not as nice to play. Not sure if it’s wider or strings are closer together but yea… You’ll have to twist my arm pretty hard to buy another 5.
Well it took ~3 weeks for the Ampero One to get here (2-3 days from UK to Hungary, rest is on the infamous local postal service, plus customs as UK is not EU any more).
So far spent a few ours on firmware upgrade, learning it - loving it
Thanks a lot for @sunDOG colleague to send it to me, will be a good new owner I promise
I’m excited to say I’m getting some new gear! I was finally able to sell a professional flugelhorn I’ve had since college and don’t really play anymore. It’s kind of mind-blowing, but just by selling that, I was able to get a LOT (to me) of new gear, with money left over. I don’t have it all yet, but this is what I’m getting.
Focusrite Scarlett 4i4 4th gen
Specter Ray34 Stingray bass
Katana 210 bass amp with bluetooth dongle & footswitch (also a cover to protect it from my cat!)
Headphone amp
Headphones
I’m also selling an acoustic guitar I never play, and once I get the new amp, I’ll be selling my Rumble 100.
I’ll post some pictures once things arrive. I’m also really happy that I’m able to keep my Ibanez 5-string, so now I’ll have a 4-string and a 5-string.
