oh snap! that’s super helpful. Just measured (45 long, 11 and 13 wide) and it looks like mine would fit. Just to double check the length of the body on mine from the bottom (by the strap) to the top of the top horn is 20 inches. Is that about what the San Dimas measures?

Including the strap buttons, it looks like the San Dimas is just shy of 21”.

TC electronics hyper gravity compressor. It works well. It’s not a bass pedal per say but will work on bass. In fact there are a couple of bass presets in the tone print studio for this pedal. In theory you could program 3 different compressors settings and it, just the flip of a switch it could be 3 pedals in one. Tone print is really cool as you hold your phones speaker to your bass pickup and it programs via sound. It’s actually pretty effing cool. I replaced it with the boss compressor. To my knowledge everything functions as it should.

I’m kind of interested in this. I know what compressor pedals are intended for, but any videos of “this is what this pedal sounds like” I can’t really hear a difference on anything but the overall volume. I’ve played with the compressor effects on my B2Four, but I don’t really know what i’m doing. I just kind of found a preset sound that sounded okay and stuck with it.

You certainly can hear the difference although they’re subtle. Some have more sustain, some let the note fade faster. The biggest benefit of compression, for me anyway, is the attack. With some songs I find myself really digging in and really playing hard. It almost puts a ceiling on how loud you will be. Keeps you from spiking to high and clipping your sound. For me the key was setting the attack in a manner that you can still achieve the p-bass growl without getting overly distorted or clipping the signal.

Here are some of the artist options and tc has a bunch as well. I used the sarzo beauty and beast when it was on my board.

Contrary to what you would think based on the name, compression (as an effect) is primarily about increasing the loudness of the body of a signal by compressing its dynamic range. Limiting the peaks (which, for guitars, bass, and drums is usually on the attack) allows for making the rest of the signal louder while keeping peak volume level constant.

The overall effect is peaks are tamed while the rest of the tone sounds louder, which up to a point is perceived as “better”.

Some interesting ones also add some tone coloring.

It’s among the most important effects but one that it takes a while to grasp.

So I did some more playing with some of the compressor settings on my Zoom, and was able to actually hear some differences, so I’m interested in trying stuff with a real compressor.

With that said, I’d like to upgrade my “kind of interested”, assuming no one else has claimed it via PM…
