I recently asked @JoshFossgreen if I could make some BassBuzz-branded shirts I designed for a few friends here on the forum. He replied that, no, I could not. He doesn’t want anyone randomly using his logo.
His intellectual property (site, forum, logo) is by all logic copyrighted and trademarked. If, by some chance it weren’t, it ought to be. Immediately.
In the late '90s, Jaguar was building out a customer support call center system. They located the English language call center for U.S. customer support in South Africa. It was cheaper than locating it in Britain. They figured that Americans wouldn’t be able to tell the difference between the British English accent and the South African one.
I’ve only been to Australia 3 times. Business trips to Sydney. But I do know that residents of Singapore LOVE Perth. When I asked about their reasons, the common answers were: 1) it’s only an inexpensive 5 hour flight (H.K. is 4 1/2 hours, so about the same), 2) there’s a LOT of room, and the biggie 3) there’re no rules. I’ve also heard that the beer consumption in Perth is near the top of the table worldwide.
Our clever dev ninja Andreea found a magic setting, one that caused Discourse to force sync with Wordpress (main site) avatars. That’s now been turned off, should solve that issue now.
