I use the sleepbuds and those are terrific.
I had them and switched to the Soundcore.
The A10 sucked, but I am beta testing the A20. Cannot say anything in detail about them - cause NDA - but A20 are absolutely great!!!
Ok, I’ve just ordered the AKG 240. I’ve had the Sennheisers on for half an hour and they’re squeezing my head to the point that they’re uncomfortable. I’ll see how the AKG are when they arrive tomorrow and stick with the pair that work best for me.
Ha
Eh? What?
Oh, nothing
But I had both AKG and Sennheiser (and also Beyerdynamic) before I switched to Austrian Audio for Monitoring.
They all sound different (but great) - and also feel very different on your head. If you did not like the Sennheiser, the AKG will likely fit. At least that’s what I remember…
EDIT Did you try to pull the headphone apart a little,. so the pressure is relieved?
I did, but they snapped back into place and hurt my ears.
I don’t know that specific type, but if you slooooooooooooowlyyyyyyyy & carefully pull them apart (without breaking them) you can usually make them fit.
Do you like the sound/look?
if so: try that!
Surprised that you find them that uncomfortable…do you have a big head by chance? I wear a size 7 3/8 baseball cap (not sure if that means anything to you), which is on the larger end and I didn’t have any issue with squeeze. Bummer!
I doubt that. I prefer mp3. All of this codex is just more space. I don’t know about your ears but mines are not as detailed as it once was.
A friend of mine works for Audio and designs interiors. He says that Audi needed to adapt the design of the seats of the A-class cars, as US nutrition made Americans “great” again (at least in trems of weight).
Maybe Sennheiser did not get the latest US statistics and still presumes European sizes (we are about 10%-20% lighter than Americans, but a little larger).
Avoid carbs, then Sennheiser will fit too
Not an especially large head. I’m a size large in Arai motorcycle helmets.
Wouldn’t matter to me. I’m Welsh, not American.
lol not sure if the size of your skull has any relation to your diet…
What works for me might suck for you, just part of the trial and error process until we find what works best for our unique body shapes and sizes!
I do like the look and sound, no problems there. I’ll try again tomorrow when my wife is away and I have I’ll have the AKGs to do a side by side comparison.
Mp3 is a file format - which *really is outdated!
Both OGG and M4A are much more efficient = better quality / less space!
APTX/LDAC is a compression protocol for bluetooth. Much better than AAC and definitely muuuuuuuuuuuuuuuch better than SBC!
Just do the test yourself! Otherwise I can prepare something for you, so you can compare formats. Do you have a headphone? I mean - a good one??!
I just see the Americans on TV, you know, and generally they seem to have big heads (hats? :-)).
But maybe I have configured my TV to “stretch horizontally” instead of 16:9 - let me check ^^
True story.
I must resist to continue this discussion. MUST RESIST!!!
MP3 and mp4 are what I usually try to listen to. I have all if not most format available to me as part of many hundreds of subscriptions I have,
I’ve done many lookie loo test as well as blind test from $3 IEMs to my $1500 sennheiser 800s. Can I tell the difference? Sure! But I gotta lean forward and close my eyes to tell the difference. The differences are so subtle unlike the hit on the wallet for better sound quality.
High quality formats looks great on graphs but not transfer to listening experience and we don’t listen with our eyes.
Like bass guitars, sound and tone are cheap, fit and feel is what separates the values from the premiums. Not to mention EQ is free!
My best music experiences were from live performances in a concert hall and some live venues and really the sound quality is nothing compares to the studio recording, by some how it feels more satisfying. Plus a true ” Audiophile” listening experience is quite fatiguing and unnatural. Most likely mixed by some young engineer, who still wet behind the ears or some old engineer with wealth of experience, but can’t hear shit anymore,
