Help. Sire vs Squier [POLL]

Just catching up on this thread… funnily enough, I bought a second hand Sire V7 last Thursday evening, but fretless.

Not the greatest picture, but it’s a quality bass and sounds pretty good, even in my inexperienced (fret hunting) hands!

I should add that I did look at a second hand Squire fretless, but preferred the look of the Sire

I mean…

Squier Classic Vibe: Good quality instrument made in Indonesia by Cort
Sire MM V5: Good quality instrument made in Indonesia by Sire

I would feel safe taking either over a MIM Fender. The Squier will benefit a lot from a pickup swap while the Sire will probably be fine.

A Squier is a safe bet.

A Sire is an overall upgrade on a Squier.

Holy necrony.
Btw this necroing reminded me of this forum. I’m alive and well.

Also since it seems I’ve never posted an update to the build. It is completed, and it’s awesome.

Btw that new gen of 70’s Sire seems superb I’d look into it.

Yep thats a good way to put it. MII Sire and Yamaha are more or less equivalent in overall quality.
