Any dog veterinarian in the house?

Just took the mom (puppy) to the emergency Vet. It appears that she has milk fever and needs some urgent care. Over the phone I was told that emergency exam is $130 Blood work $300 and Recommended xrays is $500 I understand the first 2 but X-rays do I really need one for puppy with milk fever? It’s basically low blood calcium. We are still waiting. Thanks for any advice I can get.
