How about making the Cover Thread a separate section?

and do we split in one cover thread per year ? or just the automatic 10000 posts split ?

Having yearly boundaries sounds much nicer than arbitrary 10000-post ones.

I share the same opinion, also it would be very neat to close each yearly post with the annual counts, an maybe start each new year with instructions and help for the newcomers (links to the tutorials, say that there is no minimum level required ā€¦ all of those things)

This is something you can make happen without any help I think

I donā€™t think I can split a post without being admin, even if I created the initial post. Actually I just tried to do it

I think that would be useful because we want to encourage more people to improve; and recording yourself definitely improves your playing.

Iā€™d hate to think BassBuzzers whoā€™ve recently finished the B2B course look at a fantastically polished cover by someone like @Al1885 and be discouraged from giving it a go.
When the fact is heā€™s been playing for a long time and has put in a lot of work to get to that ā€˜effortlessā€™ stage of playing.

Thatā€™s for sure, the thread has always been open to beginners. Itā€™s the purpose since the beginning : everybody is very welcome to share their covers and we always encourage the beginners to start recording themselves (and the more advanced players are always welcome too, obviously).

Of course we all want to see newcomers, and more covers from beginners. Itā€™s always a true joy to discover a first cover from someone.

This is awesomeness.

Please donā€™t put the ā€œfavorite pizza toppingā€ thread in it. :upside_down_face:

Thereā€™s no secret in making everything look easy and effortless. Itā€™s repetitions.

Thatā€™s a good point. Iā€™ve been wanting to do one of two things or both. One is to put a bloopers and outtakes of some of the mistakes, like in the older Jackie Chan flicks they were my favorite, lol.

Two is the tutorial thread on the songs I did. No theories just play. Some would have tabs. Tab takes a long time for someone like me to input but Iā€™ve done some that I can share. I can also share my tips and tricks of how I did it. The tutorial songs would be run at about 75% speed and broken down to intro/verse/ chorus etc.

How do I create user index thread? Just create a new thread and post song link? Thanks.

What!? You donā€™t have a User Video Index? I can help with that.

Hey @terb ! This sounds great! If you start a new thread with 2023 in the title, ping me and Iā€™ll close the other one and put a link to direct people to the new one.

And I made a globally pinned post with various links - BassBuzz Forum Top Threads

Probably needs some improvement, just let me know what I fcked up and Iā€™ll make it better.

Hi @JoshFossgreen
Other than the link above, how does one see this pinned post?
I canā€™t seem to find it on my own (most likely operator error for sure).

Iā€™m having the same issue as @John_E .

Also, that thread doesnā€™t have a category. Could that have something to do with it or did it lose itā€™s pinning for me since I had already looked at it. If this is the case, is it possible to have it permanently pinned? So, it doesnā€™t go away after the first time you click on it?

I had to open BassBuzz Forum Top Threads, click the thumbtack at the top to turn it upside down, and now it shows as the first thread in the ā€œLatestā€

Nice. Thanks @AnotherJosh.

@eric.kiser, you may have to change this too at the bottom of the page. Mine was set to Unpinned
