I was going to play it on guitar for the 50 song challenge but I need a slide
Apparently it’s called “7 nation army” becase as a kid, Jack White mispronounced “Salvation Army”

yeah it could be a guitar, it sounds like thin strings with this Digitech Whammy (pitch down) sound.
Don’t you have a Bass VI @John_E ? I would give it a try if possible
It is a guitar. I just watched Jack White playing it.
Yeah it’s just low E on a guitar.
I do but it just went to the shop for a bit of work I couldn’t do so will try that when it gets back
Could buy another guitar
ok that was mean, I shouldn’t feed your GAS.
But… RevStar!
yeahhh, that’s really pretty
not a chance. I have zero interest (thanks to the even more costly saxophone issue I have)
I decided to make my own tone…
Great playing and great tone, @John_E .
I actually find that the Hofner comes closest to matching the sound in the original recording, if you are still hunting that tone. But you don’t need to – your version was great.
Actually toyed around with this pedal last weekend. It has an unique synthy sound when pitching down (which I didn’t expected). It has the same type of sound when the distortion kicks in.
yes, absolutly. this grainy synthy sound is very much associated with the Digitech sound, in my mind.
I absolutely love quirky pedals like this. It’s why I like the OC-2 more than any other octaver - it’s just so delightfully weird and glitchy.
If I ever buy another guitar it will be a RevStar. That’s pretty unlikely at the moment though.
I liked the Cort I had after I swapped out its pickups, but just never played it enough to keep it.
a good friend of mine has one. he also have a 90’s ESP that he bougth from a french very well known band guitarist … this friend is a gourmet. He likes this Revstar a lot, that’s one with the big aluminum tailpiece. Also boutique pickups obviously. doubles the price easily. a gourmet, I said.
Dammit. My plan backfired and now I’m gassing for a Revstar.
They redid their model line this year. This is the cheapest one now:
Looks fantastic, and probably a pickup swap away from sounding fantastic.
This is the one I would actually want:
higher end model, slightly better color, about $300 more.
Very, very double-humbucker
They make a dual P90 too, also sounds good.
I’m gassing hard on a tele now. Welp
Let’s do the unthinkable Howard
I won’t play it I fear. Though that didn’t stop me the last two times
Too late. I gave in…
Nice! Teles are really great.
