I think it’s okay to say it now. I was in the beta for Guitarbuzz. It’s every bit as good for guitar as Bassbuzz is for bass. Alex is an amazeballs teacher. It’s the first time that I’ve ever been able to stick with guitar for any amount of time, and I’m seriously looking forward to seeing what the final product looks like. There was a point where there was a Billie Jean kind of moment at the end of module 4 (The Clash) but I think enough of us whined that they changed it up a little.

Heya Josh, for those of us in the beta, it’s tied to our login here. It doesn’t look like that carries over to the guitarbuzz forums… or am I being dumb?
@faydout GuitarBuzz will be its own account, cuz the beta was actually hosted on BassBuzz, I’m pretty sure, will correct myself if not.
CORRECTION FROM THE TECH TEAM: "The beta testers have accounts on GuitarBuzz on the emails that they gave to us for the Beta test, but the accounts were created silently so they wouldn’t have been notified about it. I recommend they try the reset password feature on GB. Once they reset their passwords they’ll gain access to the GB forum as well.
Huge congrats, Josh!!! That looks awesome and (like BassBuzz) very reasonably priced! Should get a lot of traction, and - if anyone’s on the fence - send them over here and we’ll set them straight
That said, I will resist picking up a guitar… my bass playing stills needs LOTS of work, and I don’t want to dilute my efforts there. So, yeah, I will keep hanging out “for free” for another couple of years on the BassBuzz forum. And, again, thanks for having us!!!
No dilution. I found that learning guitar really helped with being less bad at bass. Especially some of the lead guitar techniques in the course (bends, hammer ons/offs got way easier on bass for instance). Also, you’re probably already better at bass than 95% of us plebs here.
My daughter and I helped play test the course and we really enjoyed it. My daughter had NO interest in learning a stringed instrument to play but she decided to give the course a try after seeing me go through a couple lessons. After going through a module using my guitar, she went out and bought her own.
When I was playing through the BB courses, I kept thinking it would be great if there was a guitar course just like it. So I had to jump at the opportunity to help with a playtest! I know there was one lesson that cheesed me off that I stopped playing for a bit and went back to BB (LOL). But after I got over it, I tried it again (still was bad) then moved off to the next lesson and vowed to make a comeback!
I am looking forward to seeing how things have changed. Can’t wait to start off with Module 1 tonight and (re)learn guitar.
