I betrayed Bass and bought a Guitar!

So the dude pretented he didn’t know, even though there is a giant GIO on the headstock.

Maybe someday if it works out, but kinda glad I didn’t bother.

I would pass too. Sadly there are a lot more cagey people in the guitar scene. I had my share dealing with them.

Selling a bass is a way more relax experience.

Question for all those of you who play several instruments: How do you divide your practice/playing time? Do you play multiple instruments a day? Alternate them during the week? Or do you pick them up in seasons?

This past year I’ve played them exclusively for a block of time, for example 3 months on guitar, 4 months on mandolin, 1 month on bass, and now I’m back on the guitar kick. Im not sure if this is being counterproductive at getting really good a one, specially with muscle memory.

How do you guys do it?

I generally start by bitching that I don’t have enough time for both like I want to have. Lol.

I find I go in waves where one is more predominant. I also find early evening is my peak time where I enjoy playing sax, whereas bass can be anytime. Sax is also limited due to volume in mornings, late evenings, or working hours as my wife’s office is above the music room.

Generally though if I play sax I find time for bass a bit later on that pm.

I just play whatever and whenever I feel like playing. When I play bass I also improve in guitar and vice versa. Most important is that your instrument is easy to pick up for some quick noodling. I noodle at least half an hour every day. Skipping a week is fine too, it usually results in progress too.

Time is my worst enemy.

I do find when I can play both my fingers get a bit confused, which I am trying to work on so it doesn’t happen as much.

I generally don’t practice enough on any of them

Same. Sometimes I’ll even go a few weeks without playing anything beyond a quick noodle or two. I have to be feeling it.

Does the Bass VI help with that?

So far been keeping that really simple, and since it’s all pick work it’s not too too bad. It doesn’t help, but isn’t hurting.

Behold my monstrous guitar rig setup! I’m sure I’ll be heard at the end of the block! :joy:

New G-Stream Miku Custom, if anyone wants some guitar porn.

With the current tanked yen, it’s “only” $7000USD

Yikes, that’s almost 10K Canadian :open_mouth: lol

Klon Centaur pedals are selling for about that much now so maybe that’s a bargain

I absolutely don’t get it why those are so overpriced. You have to be nuts to buy them. Especially when they made clones under hundred dollars that sound exactly the same.

I’m GAS’ing hard! Lucky for my wallet it’s a little too heavy for my taste @ 7 lbs 14 oz.
